As of January 22, 2015, we are ready to schedule your Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or to Adjust Status, Receipt Number MSCXXXXXXX, for an interview. We will schedule your interview and send you a notice. Please follow any instructions in the notice. If you move, go towww.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

I haven't received a letter or any additional information in the mail. Is this normal? how long does it take for an update.

It will depend on the workload of your local office.

Currently, Dallas is one of the more backlogged offices.

I heard it can be 2-4 months, but I feel you should look at the November filling group and compare your timeline with them, I have seen some getting there interview letters, so just check it out and see

12/24/2014.................forms i130, i485, i765, i131 mailed via usps12/26/2014.................forms delivered01/05/2015.................NOA1 for all forms wth 26th dec as priority date01/24/2015.................bio apt received for 02/0601/26/2015................. walk in bio failed, supervisor said that the office is way to busy to come back closer to my apt date02/06/2015................. completed biometrics02/11/2015.................Aos status update 'case is ready to be scheduled for an interview'<p>02/24/2015................EAD updated to 'card in production' AP updated to case approved

09/17/2015....... interview scheduled for OCT 21st.

10/21/2015....... attended interview, approved on the spot, also received updates on case status.

10/23/2015...... green card mailed

What visa did you enter the US with that you are adjusting status from? Your profile and timeline show F-1.

What visa did you enter the US with that you are adjusting status from? Your profile and timeline show F-1.

I entered the U.S as an F-1 student but then I got married and now I'm adjusting my status for the Green Card. Therefore my visa should be based family.

Your AOS is immediate relative(family based), but you are not adjusting from a family based visa. You entered the US with an F-1. Your visa type does not change because you married a USC. You are adjusting from a student visa, and that is why this is the correct forum for your AOS postings.
