Scan Dates & Case Completes (CC)

This is a good idea, shippingforecast. I would be happy to provide my case # to others before or after I receive a response. For me, personally, I don't see any downside with providing others with my case #, but I understand if others have concerns. Perhaps it could be added as a voluntary field to ariani's spreadsheet.

Great idea! What do think, ariani? We can add another tab to the spreadsheet too. That way, if anyone in the future has the same problem (being overlooked) we can just point them to the text on the spreadsheet and they can consult the data for case numbers.

I will make you a deal...help me edit this spreadsheet and we can add the field. We need volunteers that will edit as little as once per day (1min). Once I am done with the NVC I don't know how active (or even if active) I will be with these forums.

LONG VERSION *****

So here are the issues:

This spreadsheet assumes that the NVC is treating all scan dates (SD) in the same manner in order to increase efficiency; so far this has been true. Unfortunately, once review times come down closer to the four (4) week mark you will quickly see a discrepancy between reviews relating from new documents, checklists, countries/regions, etc. So what's the solution? Basically the only true method is going to be the spreadsheet that saylin runs which is detailed in ALL aspects / all dates (case#, AOS generation, IV invoice paid, etc).

Also have you noticed how this spreadsheet is creating more chaos than happiness? I don't like that people are feeling skipped on;the letter does state AT LEAST 60 days.

I don't have my laptop at the moment, it's already in the US. If I manage to get there before you're done here then I don't mind managing it. That said, I agree with you on Saylin's spreadsheet. It's much more comprehensive.

I don't think your spreadsheet is causing unhappiness. People would still post when they got case completes which would make others with earlier scan dates feel skipped over.

Also makes us that do have CC's feel bad for those that don't :( I feel terrible knowing mines done yet others that had theirs first isn't. Makes me feel like sht tbh >.<

I am happy mines done. I pray, wish and hope more then anything everyone starts getting CC's as soon as they expect them.

With that being said tho.. I couldn't lived without reloading the scan list a few times a day knowing where everyone's at and stands. Thanks Ariani for that!

I agree that we can't always compare our cases to one another for a number of factors.

Just wanted to point out that their website still states- "Please allow 60 days for the NVC to review your forms and documents."

http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/immigrant-process/documents/Submit_documents.html

My state senator told me to reach out to them if at any point my case went over the suggested time period listed on their website. So today I went ahead and sent an e-mail and will try to follow up with their office on Monday. Your spreadsheet doesn't cause me unhappiness, I just told myself I wouldn't take any kind of action until I reached over 60 days.

Contact your senators office first thing Monday morning. Fill out the waiver, their application (?), and fax them all documentation you have such as those emails that state 60 days. Honestly I would recommend going in person and being courteous and well mannered, a please & thank you can get you places.

EDIT: You should be able to download the spreadsheet in case the senator's liaison wants to see. It can even be sent via email.

I have already contacted my senators office, and there is not much they can do. They been "helping me" since December and they are told the same thing about the '60' day. I had requested their help because I had "expedited" approved but only once my file reaches the Embassy and so far, expedite has meant the complete opposite at NVC.
