Hello,

I received a greencard via my spouse sponsoring me. In september 2014 I files an i407 and abandoned my greencard. With the thought of the both of us never returning to the usa. I never recieved word that my application was recieved and acknowledged.

We would like to return to theus. What do I do?

Hi,

Using form i-407 means that you have irrevocably abandon your green card. You will have to be petitioned all over again. You will need to qualify for it all over again.

Not seen too many I 407's begs the question whether you get acknowledgement.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

If you are just visiting, you apply for a tourist visa and see what happens. If you are looking to get another GC to live in the US then your spouse files the I-130 for a spousal visa unless the country you are living in allows and your spouse qualifies for DCF (direct consular filing). Then you wait. You will mention the other GC on the I-130 application and I would make sure you give them your A# as well.
