Signature Issues????

Hi, everyone! I have another question, and this may seem really silly.

So, ever since I learned how to signed documents, my signature has been really "small". I do not sign my full name. As my fiancee described it, my signature looks like just "initials".

My cousin who went through the same process (K1) said that this might be an issue. I said that I cannot just change my signature because that is how it has been all my life - passport, bank records, etc.

Will they really make an issue out of this? This is the only thing that is stopping us from sending the application already.

I agree with you cousin. My finance signed in a similar fashion to you but I had my fiance sign everything with her full name. She practiced several times.

Oh no. I am now worried. However, I can't just change my signature because we included my passport as evidence (we traveled when he was here). My signature on the document is the same as the one on my passport, so I do not want to change it.

A signature is any mark intended to authenticate. It could be an X if you want it to be, as long as you could tell it was the X that you made and not someone else's.

OP, I 100% disagree with your cousin (and the poster that echoed your cousin's sentiments). Your signature is your signature, it's not going to cause problems.

Your signature could be a drawing of a jellyfish and it wouldn't matter.

A signature is just to prove you are who you say you are.

My signature used to be my full time but I made it tiny, and now it looks like a scribble because it was faster to write it that way.

I only changed it for speed and I did this by writing both on everything for about a year including in my passport then slowly started to drop the long one.

Your cousin and the first poster are very very wrong.

A signature does not matter what it is as long as it is consistent.

There is your "signature", then there is "signing your full name" one is not the same as the other - some legal documents require signing your full name. As for the I-129F, it only asks for your signature - so you sign the form as you do your passport, bank records and such.

Your signature is your signature. It doesn't matter how "small" it is, or what it looks like. It is the way you sign your name.

My signature is really small, funny so is my wife's haha. There were times where I wrote a check to someone, signed it, and they handed it back to me asking me to sign the check. I said it's already signed, and they had to look again at the signature line to finally see my signature. My signature, even though tiny and you can't even make out the names, is MY signature and is acceptable anywhere I am required to sign.
