Congratulations. At first I was somewhat jealous since I filed one day before you.

But then I noticed that you sent to CSC whereas the rest of us mostly sent to NBC.

The processing times are not necessarily comparable due to different workloads, etc.

However, I am confused as to why you sent to CSC.

At the bottom of your timeline you have:

Employment-based. Adjusting from F-1 (grace period) at CSC

However, the F-1 is not employment based, even when you might be working under OPT.

I understand the idea of the grace period after you graduate or finish the OPT.

But you are still under an F-1 visa, where the instructions say to submit to Chicago drop-box where usually assigned to NBC.

So can you clarify what visa you actually had when you applied for AOS and why you sent to CSC?

Thanks, Leo

So can you clarify what visa you actually had when you applied for AOS and why you sent to CSC?

I had an F-1 visa when I applied for AOS.

My AOS was based on an approved I-526 (employment-based fifth preference) petition. Per I-485 instructions, AOS based on approved I-526 should be sent to the Dallas lockbox and routed to CSC for processing.

I believe that most follows here are filing family-based AOS, which are sent to Chicago lockbox and routed to NBC.

I hope this clarifies things a bit.

Lanna, That is what our status said until it changed from "fingerprint fee received..." to "suspended until RFE reply"

Chewy, Why was it unsuccessful? Do they just not allow walk-ins?

Does this mean you now have residency? That happened so quickly.

My walkin experience was horrible! Of course I knew it was a chance so I wasn't mad about not getting in...I was more upset with how we were treated.

We didn't even make it through the front door LOL! I handed the security gaurd my letter and he looked at it and said "Your appointment isn't until April 8th at 2:00" I said I know I was going to see if we could get in early. He then said to me "Ma'am do you need me to clarify what Appointment Time means" hands me my papers and said now leave and come back on April 8th at 2:00 pm.

I was a bit pissed off....but went to the beach and the tiki bar and had a drink! LOL

OK. The confusion existed because at bottom of your timeline you say: "Adjusting from F-1."

As you say, you really were not adjusting from F-1, elsewise you would have sent packet to Dropbox in Chicago.

So perhaps you can change your wording so as to not confuse another reader who may not read this particular posting of yours with the correction.

Oh no, I got an RFE guys :/ Similar to everyone else's: it is regarding form I-864 the affidavit of support. Don't understand why they stated that the income did not meet 125% of the poverty line but oh well.

I am a little unsure of what to do ... I would send my husbands' (the USC) bank statements, but he did not have a full time job for the first half of the year because he was getting his Bsc and so his bank statements won't look that great. He was getting money from his parents, but they would send him money rather sporadically. I'm annoyed that the officers wouldn't accept the evidence we submitted, because he has a 5 year contract alongside his PhD that states that he will be earning well above 125% of the poverty line.

What did you all do? I really don't want to ask his grandparents to be a joint sponsor but at the same time, I don't want the officers to reject us on the basis of my husband's past bank statements :/

LOL...no way in hell am I filing anything against anyone in immigration. Who knows what they can do behind the scenes. They can be as rude to me as they want! Knowing our luck we would end up getting an officer doing our interview that knew the security guard I filed a complaint against :o

If I were you, I will submit a joint sponsor with a continuous and stable monthly earnings. As I read your statements, the adjudicating officer might have looked or perceived that your husband's income is not enough for sponsorship. Pay-stubs for the last six months, Tax transcripts and certificate of employment of the joint sponsor are also important documents to submit to convince the approving authority and prevent RFE from I-864 submission. Just my personal thoughts.

Hey Rodeo, thank you for your thoughts. They are greatly appreciated and I think you are right since I submitted pay stubs, a tax transcript for 2014 and a letter of employment offer :/ Getting a joint sponsor is probably the safest way to proceed.

LOL...no way in hell am I filing anything against anyone in immigration. Who knows what they can do behind the scenes. They can be as rude to me as they want! Knowing our luck we would end up getting an officer doing our interview that knew the security guard I filed a complaint against :o

Chewy, LOL I wouldn't risk it either, but I wish we could!
