ummmm seriously?....every where in the US, no matter the state, you are vulnerable to bad weather.

Not really. I live in Austin Texas now.I seriously doubt there is going to be weather bad enough to close everything down here. I have not heard of the weather that bad here and do not think the weather will ever be that bad living here.It might get very hot in the summer but business closing due to extreme weather I just do not see that happening here

ummmm seriously?....every where in the US, no matter the state, you are vulnerable to bad weather.

Bad weather closures are understandable...sorry...since you live up there.

The issue I and many other have is a long term unavailability of the NVC...in December as I mentioned, the phones were completely down...and also they had problems with their website.

People's lives are affected by such a bad system. That is what I am talking about. I was on the website earlier today and it didn't yet say they were closed...and they must be able to adjust the phone system to state at the beginning of the phone call they are closed. No one wants to go through all the messages as if they are open...press all the buttons...listen to all the messages...until the one we need only to hear they are closed.

For me...I wonder why I haven't heard back by email for over three weeks..nothing.

I read on this forum that so many others have suffered not being able to be with their loved ones and even a person whose relative is critically ill and they are already approved to see them.

Those are the reasons for my post. We just want a system which is already stressful...(waiting for a Visa) to be handled responsibly..and respectfully.

I agree the message should be at the beginning. As far as the location, I don't know the reasoning and can't do anything about that.

Yes I called and the recording said "closed" Nothing about weather which would've been nice. I completely understand upper east coast having horrible weather. I went to the website but didn't see a bulletin. I used (603) 334-0700 to call Customer (Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight EST, excluding holidays). Any other numbers I should try?

I find that later at night works well. I've gotten through on the 2nd or 3rd try by calling after 9-10 pm EST.

Also, if you're calling during the day, try just redialing over and over. Sounds crazy, but I was able to get through Within 5-10 minutes at 9 AM with back to back redial.

And yes, the northeast has gotten several feet of snow over the last few days, so unfortunately, it's affecting businesses. Hopefully they'll open tomorrow, as it's supposed to be sunny.

A "named winter storm" is aimed right at them.

I am sure they are closed, they close for "no reason" on nice sunny days, because, "they can" it is NVC.

Really, weather there is terrible, 3 feet of snow in places.

It seems that someone said they got through, maybe it is work if "you want to, type of deal!"

Is all I can see to account for the different responses.

Not sure if NVC will be open today, Tuesday. The state is under a state of emergency per the Governor.. Not sure if they have much say in whether they are open or not. Many of the businesses in that area are closed and understandably so. The forecast for tomorrow might be sunny, but it won't help move the few feet of snow and ice off the roads along with the zero to subzero temperatures so people can safely get to work at 7:00am sharp. It's frustrating for sure, especially for some people who had visa petitions prior to NVC take so long at other service centers (TSC I am looking at you -.-). I guess we just have a bit more waiting to do.

I hope everyone gets through...and that the employees are safe..of course.

Soon it will be our turn...

I just called at 3:19pm EST and got a message like "Due to high call volumes all representatives are busy, please call back later, our hours are 7am until midnight and closed on federal holidays."

So call back I will, like the rest of you... GOOD Luck... Keep calling..

At least the message was in the beginning of the call...not wasting any more time than needed.
