K-1 Visa vailidity, is it connected to the Medical?

I saw someone on this website mentioned that the K-1 visa validity date is tied to when you do your medical. Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not? My fiance had his medical done on January 23rd but will have his interview sometime in March. So would the visa be valid from March or from January?

The medical is usually good for 6 months. In some countries, it's good for 12 months.

The maximum validity of a K1 is 6 months.

A K1 is good for 6 months or until the medical expires.

If the medical is good for 6 months in your fiance's country, then the visa would be good from date of approval to July 23, 2015 - 6 months after the medical.

If the medical is good for one year, then date of approval + 6 months as long as the medical is good.

In the Philippines, the visa validity is tied to the medical date. Some countries like Indonesia, K-1 visa validity up to 6 months from the issued date of visa.

I know this because I have had many relatives who have received immigration visas. I am also aware of the one year medical.

Life is unfair. Some get to do DCF, while others do not. Some get to visit while others can't.

Instead of focusing on what is unfair. Focus on the rules that applies to you.

I'm not focusing on what's unfair, I was just making a random rant, no need to get all judgy. To my knowledge all medicals are valid for a year, I didn't know this, so, I asked.

And this "Some get to do DCF, while others do not. Some get to visit while others can't." was completely irrelevant.

Medicals in India are valid for a year, for anyone who will have a similar question in the future.
