This might be different depending on the embassy. The Caracas embassy specifically requests the letter.

"Affidavit of Support, with a job letter stating how long he/she has had his/her job and how much money he/she makes annually (W-2 forms and 1040)."

Ugh. Was just on hold with the NVC for ~30 minutes, just to be told they don't have our case in their systems yet. They said to expect 35 days before it'll show, so I guess end of March for us... Which means my tentative moving date of mid July will probably fall through.

Rentaesol - That is the standard answer but the timeframe it normally takes is much less. Didn't see on your timeline when it was shipped to NVC - 2 weeks is more normal so continue to check in with them - I called once a day - and you should be pleasantly surprised. Good luck.

Hey guys wish us luck - we should be given an interview date this week. Sure hope we get in before the end of the month but Dublin typically schedules a month out. We are fast approaching 2 months since NOA2... Good luck to everyone waiting to hear NVC has received their case from USCIS OR shipped their case to consulate.

Oh, I wasn't sure where on the timeline to put that, so I didn't, lol. According to USCIS they shipped it to NVC February 25th, exactly one week after approval. I'll give it a few days then try calling them again. Thank you for the encouragement.

I am worried!! My case has been at NVC for 20 days. I have called and all they tell me is it's in "AP" I know that is the normal process. I just don't understand why it's taking them so long to send my case out.

Does NVC send the cases out in the morning or afternoon?

My status updated over night. I checked around 11:00 PM and then at 7:00 AM following day to find the status changed.

My fiancée got her interview date today. It's not until April 28. She had to email the immigrant visa unit to request an appointment. They responded 2 days later with a date.

We're waiting for our Visa payment to post. He paid it in cash in Weds, directly to the account they specified. Still not updated showing posted. We can't book our interview or medical until it posts. :/

I asked if there was any way I could check the status online. She said no, but we are told to tell you it will be 30 days but just keep calling us back, we dont mind.

I thought it was given a number as soon as it arrived, but from what she said it hasn't got one yet.

I thought it was given a number as soon as it arrived, but from what she said it hasn't got one yet.

It can take up to two weeks before it gets to NVC. Once they receive it you will have a case number in a day or so. Then your case will be processed and sent to Embassy.

Thanks LoveinGhana, It was NVC that I called but would she have been checking the USCIS system then? She said they had it.. maybe it has only just arrived. It is 13 days since NOA1. I will keep calling every day anyhow.
