Hi friends. My pd is April 23, 2013 and interview scheduled for 10th February in us embassy mumbai. In last page of interview letter it's written status of the Passport Police Certificate as 'P' and P denotes "you must request this police certificate from the issuing authority. After you submit your request, the issuing authority will send the certificate directly to US embassy for your interview"

I've already got my police certificate dated 21 February 2013. It's also written in the interview letter that there is no need for a new police certificate if it's issued within one year of interview date.

When I contacted the local Passport Office they don't know any such procedures like sending certificate to embassy. I'm very much confused. Pls somebody help me regarding further action to be taken. Thank you all.

Yes you're on the right forum. Might as well change your profile to F2A coz it says IR/CR. Just to avoid confusion.

VSC is slow. A lot of F2A filers with earlier PD still waiting too.

Technically its still within the 1 year validity so you should be fine... but if it's not hard to obtain a PC might as well get a new one just to play it safe.

Just an update. I read that you should get your PC directly from the passport office and not at a local police station. You will handcarry your pc to the interview.

Yeah. I already got two pcc dated 21 February 2014 from Passport Office and I send one original to nvc along with civil documents. I'm having one original along with me now. I'm confused about this status 'p'. Thank you Apple for helping me out.

Its because ur PCC is about to expire in next month. Dont get confused. Issue new PCC before ur interview n bring it to interview. No need to send it priorly. There is requirement like all immigrants PCC n medical should valid on ur POE. So its nt valid if u go to US for first time with expired PCC. I hope, its helpful.
