When doing the letter of intent to marry is it appropriate to type or to write?

I would think it does not matter. Typed would look more professional.

I personally think the LOI from the petition is a waste of time now, since it is now included in the -129F form you fill out and sign on the newer I129F Forms

I agree that it's logically a waste of time (only for the petitioner), but you should absolutely send it in. This is the government we are talking about.

Legible is the key, whether it's handwritten doesn't matter.

typed is the best thing to do, less likely to make spelling mistakes and grammar mistakes, and either to write again if need be. Also it just looks more professional typed in my opinion. Yeah then sign your signature by pen
