Please Help! US Citizen Trying to Avoid Delays in Bringing Parents

I am a US Citizen petitioning for my parents IV. When I mailed Supporting Documents for DS-260 in Nov 2014, I'd included a signed cover letter indicating that I have never been married, so my marriage certificate is not applicable. Today, Jan 12, 2015, I received a checklist email asking for "MISSING" Petitioner Marriage Certificate. I emailed asknvc@state.gov about the incorrect checklist and also called NVC today. NVC agent said that this checklist was done in error and she has put in a request to "REVIEW". She also informed me that this review may take up to 42 days!!! I desperately need help on how to avoid/shorten this lengthy 42 day delay for no fault of mine. What should I do? Would it help to call them often? Has anyone had any luck talking to a supervisor, last week when I asked for Supervisor, the agent took my number and nobody called me back. So frustrated as this has taken over a year and there's still no light at the end of the tunnel! Sorry for venting, but I can really use some guidance from the members here. I truly appreciate it, thank you.

A major mess up and you can seek an expedite, but this is not one.

It is up to 42 days, presumably to stop people bothering them.

Appreciate the responses, but there must be something that can be done to stay on track rather than waiting for "upto 42 days"! I understand it may take less than 42 days, but all steps in this process have taken the entire amount of time, so I don't think they'll take any less than the entire 42 days they have. NVC agent did admit it was a mistake on their part. Suggestions please!!

There isn't. USCIS and the NVC move at their own (slow) pace, not yours, unfortunately.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, I am aware govt. doesn't move at my pace (otherwise the case would have been completed the day it started!). I was simply reaching out for some guidance from experienced members here, for e.g. would it be useful or counter-productive for me to follow-up on a regular basis with NVC on their screw up? Does it ever help to ask for a supervisor, esp. when the error is admittedly on NVC's part? Does NVC ever respond to emails sent to the email address asknvc@state.gov provided by them in their communications? I'd appreciate some feedback on these aspects. Thanks again.

If it ends up taking more than the 42 days, then asking for a supervisor may help. Before that, no.
