Hi,

Our co-sponsor does not want to get a letter of employment confirming his job, title and annual pay.

But he can provide his latest tax return, 4 recent pay stubs and other requirements. Just not the letter of employment.

I wonder how most of you get your letter of employment. He thinks it is hard to get it that is why he do not bother of getting one.

Is it easy to get this letter?

Thank you!

Getting a letter of employment is not that hard...All you need to do is contact the HR dept of your place of employment and request it....@ no point of time they will refused to do so as they are obligated to give you a letter of employed once requested for ...be it whatever the reason is for .

I will talk to him about it but he is being stubborn regarding this. I do not know why too. Since out of all the requirements the letter of employment is the easiest :/

I work as a contractor and it was a pain getting this letter. The company I worked through even contacted their lawyer and stuff before they finally issued an electronic version of employment letter. They may be concerned about legal issues and they also may ask why one needs it.

In most cases though, it should be a simple matter of making a request and getting one without no hassles at all.

He is a regular employee. I do not know how it works there in USA. But here in the Philippines getting this letter is easy too. We just make a request on the hr through email then the following day we can get the letter.

I think I have to talk to him about this matter since it is just a simple task.

The letter of employment is not required provided the source of current income can be shown; paystubs accomplish this.

So it is ok not to provide the letter of employment?

He can however, provide 4 of his recent pay stubs and his recent federal tax return.

Thank you!

He can do his own letter of employment, Nobody says it needs to come from HR

Anyway I doubt the Embassy would even ask for that, if he has recent paystubs and last year taxes you should be fine..

you cannot do your own letter of employment especially for immigration purposes...it needs to be specific with signature from your employer / HR......being self employed is different

I've also heard that it's not required to send a letter if employment. Though it certainly wouldn't hurt to get it if you could

11/06: Husband EWI from Mexico
11/08: Started dating

11/11: Husband got deported
1/11/14: Got married
3/13/14-11/2/14:
I-130
1/26/15-3/17/15: NVC

5/28/15: INTERVIEW - denied

6/8/15: I-601/I-212 waivers received

11/17/15: I-601/I-212 waivers APPROVED

12/11/15: HUBBY HOME!!

We did not send a letter of employment and it was more than fine. Paystubs prove current employment better imho.
