Hi everyone, I've searched and cannot find a clear answer for this. My fiancée is Spanish, and I was hoping to get some clarification on how to write it in the I-129F, as there is only the format for a US Address. An example of her address would be:

María Jiménez

Calle Sol, 23

12345 Pinto, Madrid

España

1. How should I fill this out on her I-129F?

2. How should SHE fill out similar addresses on HER G-325A?

Thanks so much!!!

I'm unfamiliar with Spain's geographical layout, so it's up to you to figure out what's considered a city/town and what's a region/state. For the G-325a you can enter the Calle Sol 23 as the street address and City as Pinto and Madrid as Province/State, of course country as Spain....would be how I'd do it.

For the I-129f you'd enter Calle Sol 23 as the street number/name in 3.b. Leave 3.c. blank if it doesn't apply. 3.d. would be Pinto (if it's considered a city). Leave 3.e./3.f. blank since they only apply to US addresses. 3.g. would be the 12345 postal code form Spain. 3.h. would be Madrid (like I said, I don't know what s considered a state in Spain and what's just a city) as my guess. 3.i. would be Spain, naturally.

My fiancee is Filippina, where they have extremely strange and superlong addresses, much more so than Spain. We filled out the I-129F trying our best to represent the address but abbreviating it and omitting a couple of things becuse they did not fit, still ensuring it represents reality and where mail is delivered. Thing is, be very consistent, always fill out the very same on each document so there is no confusion between documents.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm assuming I need to leave *calle* as *calle* and NOT translate it to Street?

Thanks again!

I would do as you suggest as a translation is not actually the correct native address anymore but a translated address, which does not represent the actual location in your native country. I am immigrant, now a USA citizen, to the US and in all my documentation and applications all the way through US citizenship applications I always filled out my Swedish address in Swedish and never translated into English. It always worked great.

Looks good. Don't worry, they encounter this all the time and will figure it out.

Yeah just leave it in the original language. I wrote my addresses in German as well, I only translated "Deutschland" to "Germany". Same as "Espana" to "Spain". The rest can stay the way it is.

We wrote my wife's address exactly how one would if addressing a letter from the US to her place of residence. We had the complication of romanizing the address from cyrillic, but we did not translate ulitsa to street nor dom to house as they do not use apartment. As Kazakhstan does not have states we left that blank and just used city and country with the postal code.

It is not that important as all correspondence with the beneficiary was done via e-mail as standard post is very unreliable. My wife had to go to the Consulate to pick up her passport with the visa and now they send it via a courier company and you pick it up from them. So again, no need of an exact address.
