Just finished my interview and it was a pleasant experience. The interview time was 9:35am and I was there around 8:30am. I was asked to sit until 9:20am and then check in. Once I checked in at 9:20am had to wait until 9:50am for the Immigration Officer to call me. She was a nice lady and very courteous, she informed me that she will be doing my interview today and asked how was I doing. She took me to her office and first thing she did was to put me under oath and started looking at my file and asked for drivers license, Green card and all passports and then she said lets start with the test first. Below are the questions.

1) What is an amendment?

2) Who veto's the bill?

3) What is the supreme law of the land?

4) Who do you show loyalty to when you pledge allegiance to United States?

5) What is the capital of your state?

6) What countries did USA fought in World War II?

Got all the answers correct and she moved to written and spoken part. She asked me to read

Where is white house Located?

Then asked me to write down

White house is located in Washington DC.

Then she started going through the form. I listed the wrong travel dates so she corrected it. Then she asked me when did I came to USA and I said when I was 24. She asked why didnt I registered for the selective services and I told her that I was a student back then and a non immigrant and thought I wasnt required to register, to this she informed me that if I had the intention on living in USA later on then should register and I said thanks for the information and would keep that in mind.

She asked me if I want to give any more documents as I was applying Naturalization based on marriage, I gave her my current IT return, all the bank statements after I have filed the form and my health insurance.

Thats it, she gave me the paper which stated that I was recommended for approval. She informed me that I should be getting the oath letter in mail by July 22nd.

  • Hey All,

    My application was received on Jan. 15, 2015. I've done my biometrics back in Feb. I've received no notices after that. As of today, Jun. 18, 2015, my online status still shows "Case was received". I've gone to an InfoPass appointment and called the service center multiple times, but have been blown off each time with the standard "your application is still within the processing time" reply.

    Any suggestions on how to get this application moving again?

Today I became a U.S citizen. Couldn't stay for the entire ceremony,left after I was sworn in. Had to go to federal plaza because uscis made an error on my naturalization certificate. They had me down as being married and spelt my names incorrectly.

Thanks Time Travel . I will give wait for another 2 weeks . If I do not hear anything , I may consider writing my Congressman or Senator .

Hi Jimmy Hou,yes I noticed the errors before the oath ceremony. After taking your green card they show you the certificate to make sure everything is done correctly. Mines along with a few others had errors or the wrong picture on the certificate. We were all able to get it fixed the same day. I'm so thankful this journey is over!
