Howard Mourns the Death of Student Athlete Terrence Tusan

Today, the Howard University family mourns the loss of student athlete Terrence Tusan, a senior from Arlington, Texas, who was majoring in Leisure Studies. Terrence played as a running back on the Howard University Football team for three seasons. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Tusan family at this difficult time.

A former Euless Trinity High School football star who was home from college for Christmas break was one of two suspects killed in a Denton home invasion robbery over the weekend, authorities said late Tuesday.

Terrence Neal Tusan, 22, who went on to play football for Howard University in Washington, D.C., and Jakobi Dmon Gipson, 18, both of Arlington, were fatally shot Sunday evening at the CastleRock at Denton apartment complex, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Sorry, I have no sympathy about this - he made his choice, took his chances, and participated in the wrong robbery. What's the 'right' robbery, you ask? Beats me...

In the end, final bit of analysis - I could easily blame the mother, for letting her future meal ticket out of her sight during the Christmas break from his NFL training program.

According to the Denton Record-Chronicle, Howard running back Terrence Neal Tusan, 22; Jakobi Dmon Gipson, 18; and another man allegedly forced their way into a Denton, Texas, apartment Sunday. Although police did not say how the shooting began, it is believed that residents of the apartment opened fire on the young men, who were reportedly all wearing masks.

Gipson's body was found inside the apartment, according to the Denton Record-Chronicle, and Tusan's body was found outside near the apartment. A third suspect, who may have been injured in the shooting, remains at large.
