Can I be a self co-sponsor in this situation?

Yet another question from me...

Can I be my own co-sponsor by demonstrating that I have had and will continue to have income from my online job (if I emphasise that this will be paused whilst I await my EAD) or can you only self co-sponsor with bank savings/by owning a house?

For example, poverty guidelines is currently around $19,660, if he makes $16,000 and I make roughly £500 a month from my online job, can we combine this?

I fear that this may be wishful thinking... All advice appreciated.

You want to self sponsor using income you will not be earning during the relevant period.

You can try it. Talk to the interviewer about it, not the document collecting person. There is no set guide for what they will approve. Someone last year had her fiancé self sponsor. He collects continuing payments for apps that he has created for smartphones as they sell. So with some proof of the kind of money he typically brings in plus $8000 savings, he was given the okay. I think the US fiancé maybe had a small income. London has also accepted 100% of the poverty guidelines which Dan just about covers. Anything you can add on top might be convincing enough. The whole Public Charge thing for a K visa is a subjective decision by the officer. So cross your fingers you get a lenient one and give it a go of you want to. You could always have a joint sponsor lined up to offer if your plan doesn't fly. You won't know unless you try.

Convert your income your to US dollars and make a summary page of his, yours, total. Then have some kind of documentation for each.

Thanks for the input guys. Dan is interviewing for various jobs this week (doesn't actually have one yet) so that's worst case scenario, we are just hoping he has a full time job by the time my interview roles around. We will also ask his parents about co sponsoring just in case. Thanks again.
