Hello everyone,

After I got a mail from approval mail from USCIS, I didn't get any mail from NVC so I called them and found out that they didn't get my case from USCIS. I filed a research and they emailed me saying they will contact USCIS on my behalf few weeks ago. I was wondering what should be my next step? I was also thinking about going to her country and marry her and update my case here. Anyone know if I can marry her in Nepal and update the case here or if i need to refile the whole process. If anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Thanks,

Suman

Above are several recent threads you can review and get some ideas. There are many others in your same situation. They aren't starting over just yet. Some have contacted their congressmen, senators, and omsbudmen. Best of Luck!

You filed a for a K-1 fiance visa and are now thinking of getting married and doing an I-130 spousal visa instead? If that is the case, you will need to re-file.

A couple of questions... I see you filed back in April and got your NOA2 in September. How long ago did the NVC say they will research? Have you tried contacting one of your senators or congressmen for assistance?

If you have not asked for help from your senator or a member of congress, I think I would try that before deciding to marry and re-file. If you do decide to go the I-130 route, be prepared for a 12+ month wait to be together.
