Thanks for the info Sarahch, I sent the docs and same day I sent email to embassy saying that I have sent my docs and scanned the receipt too and they replied the next daythat they haven't recieved it n I should contact them after four weeks with receipt number even I mentioned everything in email n today NVC says the same that they sent me that email!! i wonder why they replied the next that they haven't recieved it and wait four weeks even its Amex next day service?

in my case the embassy got the papers i sent them on march 27 but they have to scan it in their system

In your case, the embassy has received your papers but NVC is telling you wait, because embassy has to scan the papers in their system. This is where you look at ceac website and see if you have update in your date. That will be indication they have scanned your papers in their system, then NVC will confirm it on their side once it is in the system of embassy.

I hope so too! :) .... Yes my hubby is in AP I really don't know why, could be many things, at the interview CO was surprised I only stayed for 2 weeks in Pakistan and said it would've been better if I had attended the interview with my husband..AP could also be because my husband is a civil engineer, could be because he works at pakistan motorway highway police, could be because we met online...who knows...and now embassy tells us that at the interview the CO noted on my husbands 221g paper that he should submit proof of ongoing relationship which is not true, he noted nothing on the paper...the CO asked my husband if he had the documents and my husband gave it to him at the interview so now after 5 months they tell us this....interview was November 7. ASA. I petitioned for my Pakistani fiance last year and we are now starting the wait in AP. I'm wondering though. Does anyone ever get an answer as to why someone gets put into AP and why on earth it takes so long?

Sometimes people get put into AP because of security checks or because of missing documents. Many times the embassy people are not sure the relationship is real and they want time to do a field investigation or ask for proof of relationship.

Yes people do get an answer as to why they were put into AP but this is usually when the visa is denied and the case is sent back to USCIS. No one knows why in Pakistan it takes months or years to get a decision on a case. Why does one couple do 6 months of AP and another couple 2 years or more? There are also cases where people get their visa a few days after their interview. It is all very secret and confusing.
