AP Advice, Nervous About Re-Entering USA after Holidays

We are currently awaiting the approval of our AOS and my husband received his AP (I-512L) a few months ago. He is wanting to travel back to the Netherlands so he can spend the Holidays with his family for a few weeks, but he is nervous that there's a possibility he won't be able to re-enter the US. His AP is approved and everything is fine, but he's worried there's something we forgot to check which allows him to not come back. He just wants reassurance that nothing will go wrong. Is there anything that would prevent him from not being able to enter back into the US? Anything he could bring for extra proof?

There's always the possibility, as AP is discretionary and up to the CBP officer you meet on the day, but provided he has no inadmissibility issues (no illegal work, no overstay, no negative issues of any kind in the past) then he should be fine to depart and return.

I just re-entered from my home country Australia through Dallas airport last month. They sent me to secondary inspection for ~2hrs to sit there with a roomful of people. No one told you what they were doing or how long you'd have to wait, but you couldn't leave the room. We missed our connecting flight. Finally they called me up and gave back my passport and that was it. No idea what they were checking on.
