Hi,

We're currently in the process of filling out our IR-1/CR-1 visa.

When it comes to proof of a bonafide marriage...

What do the affidavits have to be? Can it be from a family member that was present at the marriage or does it have to be a legal document (i.e from the judge that married us?)

Also we have been transfering money between our bank accounts via paypal, but we don't actually own a joint bank account.

Would these bank statements and paypal statements be suitable documentation of co-mingling of financialresources?

You can use a letter from a family member or friend. Your marriage certificate, chat/phone records, travel docs, paypal staments along with pics should be enough.

Best of luck!

Since its for CR-1/IR-1

1) Copy of Government issued Marriage certificate & Religious certificate (if religious ceremony was held)

2) Photographs

You don;t need affadavits, they carry very little weight.

Moving money between eachother is good, as is evidence of communication- phone bills, a selection of chats/ emails etc.

Most important is "face time"; so boarding passes, photos together etc.

Just to note, you have gotten no where near the visa part, you are filing an I-130 petition at the moment. I just don't want you to think this is the only part of your journey. It's longer than you always feel it should be.

Okay from your first post where you stated that you are starting the IR1/CR1 visa indicated otherwise.

Have a nice and swift journey! :)
