I am of the understanding that the ESTA is valid for 2 years and that each entry you will probably be granted 90days. So you might not need a new one.

Someone more knowledgeable might correct me on this.

As I said before you might get questioned at the POE about the frequency and length of your stays. Take proofs of job, holiday granted by place of employment, and any evidence such as rental accommodation.

The longer you stay out of the States, the less suspicion of immigrant intent you will have.

What visa application in your home country are you talking about, and when was the refusal?

90 days is the limit not 3 months. May be relevant as he keeps saying 3 months and is a couple of days short.

Trip to Canada does not re set the 90 days. Trip home does.

General rule of thumb is to stay out as long as you were in. Guidance only.

Usually Consulates will only interview those residing in their territory.

With past history getting a B would be a long shot and complicate VWP visits.

Stay out for at least 90 days then you can enter again. No need for another ESTA.

I tried applying for B2 VISA in my home country this July. The reason for denial is lack of ties with my home country. That's why I finally chose to enter the States on ESTA this August and left for a third country, Canada, just 2 days before the requested departure date stamped on my passport. So, the estimated stay period is about 87 or 88 days.

According to my understanding about all of your input, I better use the first ESTA to enter the States under my circumstance. I'm now in Canada. I'll need to stay here for about 90 days so that I might be granted 90 days at the next time entry. But, staying out for 90 days is not necessary. I'll also need to prepare for documents like employment in my home country.

Please correct me if any misconception. Thanks.

As your ESTA won't be reset if you are visiting Canada, I think your best bet is to go home, and then re-enter the States on your valid ESTA.

But, honestly, I got a bank account in the States. I want to go back to withdraw savings, closing the account, if I'm not allowed to stay there for longer on ESTA. So, is it possible to go back to the States only for like 2 days?

Not sure why you have a US bank account or want to close it but can you not do that by phone or mail. Do you not have on line access?

I work for a friend's company in Taiwan. It's not a problem to have months-long vacation. Opening an account in the States is that I don't want to carry money around when traveling in one place for long time. Can you close a bank account just by making a call?

I did not update my ESTA status as B2 was denied.

The B2 denial is why you SHOULD have updated your ESTA.

--> Sorry for my poor English ability. What are you trying to tell me by this sentence? Do you mean, I cannot use ESTA because my B2 had been denied once?
