Case number still not working :ranting:

It's a US government holiday today, so I'm not surprised that nothing is updated. Try again tomorrow and Wednesday, if it's not working by then, then you may have to follow up.

You get a letter from NVC also, and it's in packet three that the beneficiary receives :)

So the only way to know if you have case number beforehand is through calling them? I mean if the letter is with the packet, no email? And oh, may I ask too if you receive the packet in your home address or consulate address?

I'm worried a bit because I have a bit different situation, btw, I am the beneficiary, I am from the Philippines but I am currently working here at Canada, me and my fiancé are just 45 mins away! (In this case I am lucky I think ???) but if the embassy will send the packet In Philippines consulate, I'm worried if they will send it in the Philippines or in Philippines consulate here at Canada. Or I hope they will send it to my home address!

The case number is in the letter from NVC that gets sent to the petitioner and in "packet three" that is sent to the beneficiary. Where your petition is sent depends on what consulate you wrote on your original application. Where your packet three is sent depends on what mailing address you wrote on the G325a. Hope that helps!

I can't get through to the NVC this morning. I'm west coast and I couldn't drag myself out of bed at 5, so I started calling at 6:30. I've been calling every 2 minutes for the last hour and I just get the busy signal. :ranting:

Today is day 33.... I bet they have my case number, I just can't get through to get it. Worst system ever.

After 30+ min on hold, I was able to get in touch with NVC. FINALLY our form has arrived and we got our case number MTL xxxxxxxxx. She told me to call back next week to check on our case status.

To all the NOA 2, hang in there and keep calling them. Looks like NVC is starting to receive a whole bunch of NOA 2 from each service center.

11/25/2014 I-129f mailed to Dallas Lockbox

12/04/2014 Receipt NOA 1 via email

12/10/2014 Receipt hard copy NOA 1

12/24/2014 Receipt NOA 2 via checking website

12/26/2014 Receipt hard copy NOA 2

01/20/2014 On hold for ONLY 30 min, got our case# MTL 1234....

02/10/2014 Called NVC (4 times in 3weeks) no update. Checked website in afternoon, IN TRANSIT?!!

02/11/2014 READY. After 21 days of no activity our status magically jumped 2 levels in less than 24hr.

Emailed MONTREAL-IV-DV@STATE.GOV requested further communication via email.

02/17/2014 Got an email response from MTL "Your file is being reviewed. We soon provide you instructions."

03/04/2014 Submitted multiple inquiries with no response! Tired of waiting around, so emailed in Packet 3 with copy of student visa.

03/09/2014 CEAC Status Date changed AGAIN to today. Hope this mean we'll be getting Packet 4 soon.

03/11/2014 GOT PACKET 4! CEAC Status Date changed.

04/17/2014 Interview appointment.

Rhaenarys, that's so frustrating :(

LBCTT, don't call back. Now that you have your case number, you can just check the status online!

I checked my status today - my case in transit to the consulate! I am already getting my packet 3 stuff organized because as soon as the CEAC website says "ready" I am emailing it in.

I'm getting so discouraged about this whole process. It's two months today since USCIS received my case and not a word, not even an RFE. I didn't think it was a complicated petition but watching other people get approved has me wondering why ours is just sitting. Is it because we're a same-sex couple? Because I'm divorced? It's just such a bummer. And I know other people have been waiting longer and I feel for all of you!

Hello Emily

We're in the exact same situation. The received our case at the start of November and we haven't heard a word since. My Fiancee called today and was told that the Texas centre we processing through "are dealing with a big backlog; and are only doing thirty a month", and they they are currently only processing petitions from June, so we're not to expect anything else until May...

Very disheartening.

23rd October 2014: Petition posted.

1st November 2014: Form I-129F received - we received text and email.

2nd November 2014: Physical NOA1 received. Form I797c, Notice Of Action. Notice Type: Receipt.

(January 21st 2015 - told through phone call to expect NOA2 in May due to backlog.)

4th June 2015: NOA2 "On June 4, 2015, we approved your Form". No email, no text - just happened to check their site.

9th June: Received hard copy.

16th June 2015: Case Was Sent To The Department of State for visa processing.
