Why drag the Teaparty Bullies into this discussion?

It is almost comical how America bashers always want and expect us to bail them and everyone else out.

Whether it is saving someone's behinds in a war, or saving the infirm, they demand we solve everyone's problems at our expense and risk with one hand, while simultaneously denigrating us (or worse) with the other.

People are parroting the White House and media meme about fear, hysteria, panic... in order to control the conversation you need to pretend you are the bedrock of calm intelligent science and everyone else is a ranting, insane coward.

If you render an opinion contrary to the administration, you are hysterical. It's all about perception management.

So all of you - stop being hysterical. You are all having strokes, high blood pressure, heads exploding because just look at how you typed out words on a computer. That is the mark of a clinically deranged whack-o.

In this case all you really need do is act rationally. Since we are talking about pure speculation, the hysteria and panic of which you speak are quite unjustified.

Again, you're wasting a perfectly good stroke on nothing substantial.

lol. Repeating a lie that people are acting hysterically doesn't make it true.

This is a Washington Times article about the subject, and they have their hands on the memo written by Robert Sorensen of the State Department:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/oct/28/state-department-plans-to-bring-foreign-ebola-pati/

To call it speculation when a major news organization is quoting from official government documents demonstrates who is acting irrationally.

It explains that other countries don't want to send people to infected countries unless they can be sent to the USA by medevac at a total cost of half a million dollars each. Transportation plus treatment.

It's also now been proven that the doctor who was infected in NYC lied to health officials about his travels through the city. He claimed he self-quarantined. I can't think of a more ghastly lie, and demonstrates that even a so-called hero can't be trusted to tell the truth and act honestly.

http://nypost.com/2014/10/29/ebola-doctor-lied-about-his-nyc-travels-police/

That's proof of how dangerous it is to think sending thousands of troops and more personnel is without significant risk of bringing it back home. Prostitution is the most likely vector, and the odds of lying about that are approximately 100%.

Meanwhile, as the President poo-poos quarantines, the troops that are going will be quarantined. In Italy:

In essence, the hysterical reaction is because of plans to bring health care workers to the US for treatment. Obviously, not all health care workers will get infected and the US has a rate of success of 100% in treating Ebola. It seems to be a far cry from the 'thousands' mentioned before.

I still think you're wasting a perfectly good stroke on an unworthy subject, but then again, knock yourself out.

The State Department has quietly made plans to bring Ebola-infected doctors and medical aides to the U.S. for treatment, according to an internal department document that argued the only way to get other countries to send medical teams to West Africa is to promise that the U.S. will be the world’s medical backstop.

Really? I'm guessing Thomas Eric Duncan didn't get that memo. Thomas Eric Duncan (1972 – October 8, 2014)

Yes, really. He died as a result from not receiving treatment in a timely manner. He was refused treatment by the Dallas hospital where he sought help.

Well wait a second. You claimed the U.S. has a 100% success rate. I didn't make that claim, you did.

The US has a rate of success of 100% in treating Ebola. However, if left untreated, as was the case in Dallas, a patient will most likely die from it.

The idea behind the plan - yet to be confirmed - of bringing infected health care workers to the US is to give them the proper treatment that has proven successful 100% of the time so far.

Why stop at Ebola? Why not fly everyone with HIV, Malaria, etc. etc. to the U.S. on private jets? At least those diseases aren't as contagious. And you're just plain wrong about the 100%. The guy in Dallas was diagnosed and treated in the United States and he is now dead. By my calculations that would put the success rate somewhere in the 65% to 80% range.

I'd suggest you contact your congressperson and propose that they do so. At this point the speculation is just for health care workers involved in the effort against Ebola.

You are incorrect in your assumptions about Mr. Duncan. He sought care in Dallas and was denied. He was only admitted when he came back two days later at a time when it was too late. If left untreated, Ebola will most likely kill one. Had he been treated when he first showed up at the hospital he would have had a better fighting chance. You find evidence to that in the nurses who treated him and got infected, who were then treated successfully. As it stands, the success rate is 100% when treating Ebola, in the US. You can't factor Mr Duncan into that equation because he was not diagnosed and treated as the other patients.

We have a 100% success rate except for the patient who was got no treatment except for the 10 days he spent in the hospital with a team of doctors talking to the CDC constantly to discuss and try options.

You just can't make this stuff up. VJ gold
