Thanks. Do you know what happens if they don't get around to seeing it until after your expiration date? I am assuming they get tons of packets daily

The average wait time for approval is 6 months! You will get your one year extension fairly quickly!

11/22/2013 ~ Check cashed

11/25/2013 ~ NOA 1 receipt date 11/20/2013

12/02/2013 ~ Biometrics appointment 12/26/2013

12/26/2013 ~ Biometrics appointment done

09/12/2014~ Approved - Card in Productioin

09/15/2014~ Letter of approval received

09/20/2014~ Card received....yipiiiiieeeee

Thank you for your response. Ok so it takes thwm fairly quickly to look at the paperwork after receiving it?

After they receive your packet they will automatically give you 1 year extension. THEN they will schedule new biometrics and start to look at your packet.

Does that mean it just has to be postmarked one day before the expiration date (or even the day of)? What happens if it is postmarked a few days after expirationdoes everything get denied and you start from scratch?

I believe that it must be received by the deadline (GC expiration date). Otherwise, unless you have an acceptable explanation for the late filing, then yes you will be denied and have to start from scratch.

Day 42 - 29 July 2014 Approval and Card Production Email

Day 49 - 5 August 2014 Received Green Card
