How Long Does it Generally Take NVC To Schedule an Interview After Case Is Completed

Good afternoon All,

I am new to your website and am wondering if someone can answer this for me.

I am an American Citizen. I petitioned my husband in August 2013 (CR1). I called NVC for a case status. The representative said it was completed on October 7, 2014 and we are waiting to be scheduled for an interview at the Embassy in Dominican Republic. I also receicved an email stating the same on October 15, 2014. Any guesses on how long after me receiving the email it takes them to schedule and when approximately we will be interviewed? Thank you.

Lacoco, around 2 to 3 weeks and your interview should be 6-8 Weeks from Case Completion.

Mine and plenty of us took around the same time for Santo Domingo.

Looking at your timeline, I would not be surprise if you hear something by next week end or for part of the following week.

Bendiciones.

Thank you for the information. Since I found out the case was completed, I have been waking up in the middle of the night to check my emails just in case they sent the interview letter. LOL!!! I have not been so interested in my emails!!! LOL!! I am really hoping I can get an interview for next month. The anxiety is killing me at this point.

Have a look at the "Case Complete to Interview Stats Spreadsheet" and compare how long other members from your country had to wait for their interview to be assigned. Scheduling for November interviews is already over. NVC will start scheduling December interviews in the last week of October and first week of November.

Who told you scheduling for November is over?

Because I just called like an hour and she confirmed that they're still scheduling for November.

Read it in the November 2014 Interview thread. But it may depend on the embassy and how busy they are.

Oh okay. Thank you!

Oh okay. Thank you!

For example: If you look at people on the spreadsheet (I posted the link above) who had a CC in the middle of September, you see that NVC didn't schedule their interviews until early October and that they didn't get an interview for October anymore but for November.

If someone else reschedules or cancels their interview at your embassy, you might get their slot and thus an earlier date instead. And if your case was expedited, your interview is also scheduled sooner than normally.

Would it be worth it now if I call and request for the case to be expidited? I don't want them to delay it more than what it already is. Before getting approved by the USCIS, I had an RFE. When all documents were sent to NVC, I apparently forgot to sign my AOS and it was returned so that delayed it 4 weeks more. I really don't know now fast the Embassy in Dominican Republic works.
