i-130 for spouse package requirements on USCIS.gov?

Hi,

I was hoping someone could help me with the i130 forms/procedure. My wife is a naturalized US citizen and I would like her to petition for me to become a IR-1 permanent resident.

I came across this procedure link from visajourney.com: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1 but on http://www.uscis.gov/ I was unable to find any of these requirements? The website basically says fill out the i-130 form and doesn't mention the requirements/package listed on the visajourney.com guide.

I am assuming visajourney.com's guide is most likely right perhaps I'm blind and I couldn't find it on the USCIS.gov. Can someone point me in the right direction on the uscis.gov website?

Also, how long would a spouse application take roughly? I live in Canada.

If you read the instructions for the I-130 you will find a lot of things are required other than just the one form. Following the VJ guides will allow you to prepare and plan ahead for all steps in the process. Remember procedures and fees do change so check the USCIS site prior to sending anything off to make sure you have the most up-to-date forms and fees information.

Currently spouse visas are taking about 15 months.

Actually it does if you read the page in which the I-130 is downloaded from on the USCIS website and also if you read the I-130 instructions which are also available for download on the USCIS website. Reading all instructions that are available is best. We've just complied everything for you in an easy to use guide.

I suggest you focus solely on both the I-130 form and the I-130 instructions, at the USCIS website, taking copious notes, pen to paper, on what is required,

then

compare your copious notes to GUIDE1, study the gap.
