Need info on when to file n 400 for my step daughter

My wife is about to file for n 400 her 3 years will be in dec. 2014 and she originally arrived on a k1 visa. My step daughter arrived the same time on a k2 visa but she is only 6 years old right now. So when is the right time to file for my step daughter n400? The same time we file for her mom this coming dec. or wait until she's older?

Since she will still be under 18 at the time , she automatically becomes a US citizen when her mom becomes a US citizen. You can apply for a US passport for her using her mother's naturalization certificate.

N600 is optional. File for it if you want her to have her own certificate of citizenship, but usually a US passport is enough evidence of citizenship.

Filing based on 3yrs/USC Spouse. 3 year residency anniversary is in August 2014. Filed immediately after the 90-day early filing mark (May 2014)

05/12/2014 - NOA Date

06/11/2014 - Biometrics Appointment

09/15/2014 - Inline for interview scheduling (was stuck in "Initial Review" for over 3 months!)

10/27/2014 - Scheduled for interview

12/01/2014 - Interview

12/19/2014 - I AM A US CITIZEN!

Unless you enjoy giving away ~$500 for the certificate of citizenship filing fee, you can go right to a US passport for your stepdaughter since, as stated above, she will automatically become a US citizen under the Child Citizenship Act on the same day her mother naturalises.
