Well, I finally found out what USCIS did with my approved petition.

"Dear Sir or Madam:

A review of our records indicates that your file was forwarded to an offsite storage facility. Your file has been requested and we will review the file and update our systems as soon as it arrives. You will receive a notice of action shortly after the file arrives. Please allow 30 to 60 days for receipt of this notice.

For future status inquiries of a petition or application filed at this Center you may want to utilize our National Customer Service Center by calling 1-800-375-5283. If you would like to obtain forms, filing instructions, case status or schedule an appointment with your local office, please visit our web site at www.uscis.gov. You must use the InfoPass Appointment Scheduler prior to visiting your local office."

An offsite storage facility! How wonderful! :blink: Well at least they didn't throw it in the trash heap and burn it!

Wow, the approval notice said they forwarded it to the listed consulate and they didn't list any consulate, now I know why :wacko: Did you notice they said I should call the CSC for status inquiries :wacko:

Well hopefully it'll finally get to the NVC :whistle:

Wow that sucks! And i cant belive they saying to allow 30- 60 days fro thier mistake! You guys better be at the top of their list when the consulate gets it! Sorry about that x

Thanks everybody! Yup it sucks! Makes you want to scream! But at this point I am quite relieved, I thought it was going to take me way longer than this to get through to them. Hopefully your petitions will go more smoothly. Fortunately the delay isn't going to put a real damper on things as she's enjoying the tropics and I would rather her get to the U.S. when it is warmer.

Hope you all avoid mistakes by USCIS like this! :)

By the way did you get that response in the mail or through a email inquiry?

I got the respone through the mail. I think it was a response to a letter I sent to VSC, or possibly a fax that I sent them, asking about what they wrote, and from a suggestion from the customer service center that I should write them to send my petition to the NVC.

That response was from the VSC director, hopefully they learn from their mistakes, we can all hope right! :devil:

By the way if you ever have to write them always send a copy of your NOA. Also USCIS does not have an email that they provide the public.

I understand the off-shore storage facility is a sunken barge in the middle of the Atlantic ocean. Every couple of months they send divers down to retrieve documents they may need. Some of the documents are hard to find because it is so dark down there.
