My question was if single copy of the documents are ok to send as mentioned in the cover letter above. There are many posts regarding cover letters which includes multiple copies of the same documents. So i wanted to verify this. Please someone help

Hi:

I personally did my cover page this way. As you can see, all the documents are attached with the forms that require them. I am not sure about this, but I believe that I 486 - and I 130 are different packets, even when you do concurrent filing. Therefore each form needs its own supporting documentation in the order requested. I rather do it this way, even with duplicates because you can't go wrong.

It is better to get more copies than to get RFE because a paper went missing. I didnt get any RFEs. Also note that at the time my supporting documentation was only initial (I didn't have a lease agreement because we weren't renting. We lived with his parents). I am bringing all my additional documentation to the interview.

The package doesn't stay together - the EAD/AP is not done by the local office, for example. I would ensure you assemble each form with the appropriate documents separately, just as if you were applying separately, that way they can route each complete package appropriately. It would seem to me that You stand a greater risk of an RFE if you do it your way (separated or lost documents).

Here is what I would say. Many people here provide documents and evidence to support their case assembling it with each form/section receiving the appropriate documents (so multiple copies of each). You won't receive an RFE for sending multiple copies of your documents, but you might if you only send one copy.

Also the guide tells you how to assemble things and which form needs which document.

The original poster can choose to follow that, or the advice of one person based on what their lawyer told them. I'm glad you haven't received an RFE, and your lawyer may be right, but there is no way for any of us here to verify what s/he has said.

My advice? If you have a lawyer, follow their advice. If you are doing it yourself, make sure you follow the instructions for each form to the letter. The paperwork is too important to risk it.

We sent two detailed cover letters, one for I-130 and another for I-1485. The former included I-864, G325's, I-765, I-683. We only sent one copy of each supportive document. We did not get any RFE's, the process went smooth and we were approved two days ago 89 days after filing.

To be honest, VJ was my starting point and I followed the guides, but I also spent a lot of time on the USCIS website and went through all the forms' instructions. If you do it that way, you will see that USCIS states the fees for EACH form. I could not find anywhere where they state that you can combine the fees (well, they don't say that you couldn't do it either). However, I'm sure some people have done it that way and was just fine. I just preferred to do it according to the updated instructions on the USCIS website.

Yes send two separates checks, that is what we did. They were they only document we use a staple on a black sheet to make sure they would not get lost at the time they open the package.

Oh congrats, I see that you were just approved two days ago! And it only took three months, that is wonderful!
