visa Approved but still in "administrative processing"

HEY FOLKS,

Please help me!

i had interview on 7 aug. the interview went well at the end CO said i will have my visa in a week. CO also gave me two slip

one is saying "congrats your visa is Approved, Your visa and passport will be available in next 3-5 days."

and other is saying i should pay the green card fee before i travel to US.

At the end of interview i thanked the CO and left i came back to office i checked the status there were no update then checked again on 8th aug the status was "Administrative processing" after that last update was on 12 Aug.

my interview was here in New Delhi

But Today is 7th business day and there are no updates ever since.

i am getting really really worried about it.

i tried call, email, and CEAC web site i get same answer "administrative processing".

Thanks for the link I have been through the link already . but they never requested any document.

and yeah just to correct my above sentence today is 6th business day coz there were two public holiday day 15 & 18 aug here in new Delhi consulate.

It's AP, so it will take as long as it takes. It could be a few weeks or possibly a few months.

Btw, just a side note on your initial post about somebody in the embassy saying you should pay the green card fee before you travel to US.

Two weeks so far? Not abnormal for India so no reason to worry yet.

Administrative Processing does not automatically mean something went wrong. In fact most AP does not mean that. The normal filing, printing, physical movement of your file, that is all called AP too.

Regardless of what the AP is, the only solution is to wait until it is done. If it gets abnormally long enough to get the attention of your Congress member, you can ask him or her for help, but two weeks is nowhere near that point.

There is nothing any congressional representative can do with regards to AP.
