My fiance applied my petition last July 7, a week after he received a receipt. On August 1, he received notice of action i797...What do the dates mean?( it says valid from 08-01-14--11-10-14) Should i be able to process everything within that period of time?

What happens after?

Should my fiance expect another notice soon?

How would i know if the documents are in NVC?

Should i be expecting a letter from the embassy soon? How many days or weeks should i wait?

I hope someone can answer my queries...Im abit lost here...Thank You :)

sounds like an I-129F approval notice,

so

two things for you:

1. study the K-1 flowchart in the Guides section, logged in here on a PC (handphones suck for this type of learning)

and

2. get to the PI subforum - find any one of Hank_ 's messages there, study his signature area, there is a link you need to click through and read for about 5 days.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Hi there! Welcome to VJ!

As noted by Darnell above, your fiance received the I-129f approval, also known here in VJ as NOA2, Step #4 in the K1 flowchart: http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1flow

Next step is NVC, where it can take approximately 2-5 weeks for processing. Your fiance can also try contacting NVC for the MNL case number after 10 business days from when he receive your NOA2 hard copy: http://travel.state....nformation.html

NVC will also be sending him a letter containing the MNL# and that your files are then en route to the consulate. Once you guys have the MNL#, you can then proceed to paying the visa application fee ($240), and then schedule K1 visa embassy interview appointment. The payment details and other instructions are in the US embassy Manila website.

Or you can also have a read on Hank's site here for detailed info: http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

The validity period (4 months) can be extended automatically by the embassy as long as they see that you are actively pursuing the K1 visa, that is, paid for the visa fee and scheduled an interview. Some folks didn't receive the Packet 3 instructions from the embassy, so better not wait for this. :)

For other embassy phase concerns, here's the PH regional subforum link: http://www.visajourn...29-philippines/
