Has anybody ever wondered how the military practices dogfights? Well I have seen it. They fly drones on computer programs right off of a PC like yours and mine. Don't believe it, not my fault. I was stationed at China Lake Naval Airwarfare Station from 1991 to 1994. I saw it and participated in it. There is the total capability to take off, fly and land a precision military aircraft without a pilot.

If a person were to work for The Cessna Aircraft Company, at One Cessna Blvd, Wichita KS, 67212 then they might know that any business jet made at that facilty is capable of many things, especially if the consumer was willing to pay for them. Maybe thats why their Citation X business jet is the fastest most relaible business jet in the world. And why The Cessna Aircraft Company controls 65% of the market share of business jet sales. Of course thats if someone happened to work for The Cessna Aircraft Company, A Division of Textron. However; a person with an MBA in Finance might know something about market share and stocks. If I knew somebody in that field that is? lol

True, but there might be this said MBA who spent ten years in airline management who might be an equal in knowledge to said purported Cessna Employee, in fact, said MBA might be superior in basic knowledge, because said MBA would have never made such a lame mis-informed statement in the first place. Just my $0.02.

Absolutely fwaguy! Also I could be wrong, I have been many times but I know of not one, ZERO- production aircraft that are capable of executing a takeoff, true a few have ALS (not autoland)

but a pilot is still very much needed unless of course you dont care where it stops...the ALS simply guides the aircraft on the localizer and glideslope to the runway threshold IF the airport is so equipped...

So if I post the address to the white house can I be president??

Pilots have to have full medicals every few months to prove they are fit to fly, if I recall correctly. Whatever it was that killed him must have been a surprise and pretty quick IMO.

Full class A medical for Captains every 6 mos. and FO's are annual

a first class medical is required for airline pilots if the pilot is over 40 its valid for 6 months

if hes under 40 its valid for a year (or it was when I was under 40...LOL)

Our captains, regardless of age, were required to get a medical every 6 mos. That is the basis for my answer.. I assumed we complied with FAA regulation and not stricter.

YMMV

Seriously, do you think the flying public would accept the rate of crashes that drones have as normal for commercial air travel? If a drone crashes you lose the aircraft. If a 747 crashes you could have something like 400 bodies lying around.

That military drone ####### has nothing to do with airline flights, FYI I was in the Air Force too, I was an aerospace tech on the most sophisticated aircraft in the world. Im sure with your vast knowledge you know exactly what that aircraft is. but back to my postings regarding your original posting of aircraft being able to take off, fly to destination and land all without pilot input...TOTAL HOGWASH and your persistence indicates ignorance of the facts.

Yes Charles, I think so, also for what its worth most if not all the HK (hunter/killer) drones are "flown" by a pilot much like a video game. I expect they have an autonomous mode of flight for loitering in an area of responsibility, but when its time for "business" theres a human at the controls.
