After going to the USCIS interview his Adjustment of Status was delayed because we need to correct my birth certificate they gave us some time to fix it.

but if i wanted to get married i'd have to wait til my dad becomes a U.S. citizen?

I think you've got it backwards...

If your father were a US citizen and he wanted to sponsor you, then the process would be faster if you were unmarried. If you were married or over 21, you would fall into a lower preference category.

However, since you are the one sponsoring your father, it makes no difference at all whether you are married or not, as long as you are over 21 (you can't sponsor him if you're under 21).

This is assuming you are a US citizen.

Are you wanting to file an I-129F to petition someone for a K-1 visa? You can still do that with your father's case pending.
