I just want to share an update to my case with you. There were some mistakes on the originally filed i130, as well as some translations missing (GRRR). My lawyer sent something called a "supplement", and it was received at Phonenix Lockbox on Saturday morning.

I hope this does not confuse the officers and that it actually makes it to my originally filed package.

Best,

UnaMexicana

Only showing affidavits is possible for me. How do I go about obtaining affadivit, I should go to a lawyer and get this? What did you guys do for your application for this requirement? I sent it my application without this, so how do I go about updating the application? Also, I see other posts saying "I have been transferred to X service center after a while, isn't that already taken place when you get your priority date?

Hey All! I'm joining this thread as I just sent off our 1-130 and it was received yesterday at the Chicago Lockbox. Look forward to following along with you even if I'll be a little behind filing at the end of the month.

I've (USC) been living abroad with my husband in France for the past six years and am hoping to get the "filers from abroad expedite" that appears to be happening again like DrewC also mentioned above. We'll see!

Good luck all!

If check was cashed, then that is a good sign. You should be getting the hard copy soon. Did you put your lawyer's info in the G-1145 or your own? Perhaps they have already notified them.

1) Sworn affidavits can be letters from people that know you both and the nature of your relationship (stating since when do they know you two are together, that you lived as a married couple, that they attended your wedding, etc.). They need to be in English but you do not need to hire a lawyer for that.

2) You mentioned that your PD is Aug 7... But you also mention that you did not send any evidence of a bona fide relationship. You NEED to send this ASAP. My lawyer sent a few translations that were missing and the corrected i130 because they made mistakes on it... all they did was add a cover letter on top addressed to the USCIS and explaining in bullets what was included. I mentioned that just a few posts above. Best of luck with this.

3) For Bona fide relationship I sent as much as I have. However, we did not include the affidavots that you mention. Each situation is different and our lawyer simply did not think we needed more than what I list... please see below as maybe you do have some things that you can use besides affidavits:

- Copy of marriage certificate and his previous divorce decree

- Joint bank account (no statements as we had only opened it because we had to follow this process, still that should help)

- Appartment lease agreement under both our names (from the apartment in Mexico where we lived when we married and where I live now, but still under both our names)

- Rent slips from this apartment, under both our names

- Utilities bills (gas, power) Power is not under our name because they are under the name of the person that owns this place, but they show this address

- Itineraries from previous vacations (Honeymoon, two vacations to the beach, a visit I made to Disneyland with him)

- Greeting cards he sent me when he was living in the US before we married

- Boarding passes showing trips he made before we married to see me

- Insurance policy from my job with him as sole beneficiary

- Medical expenses policy from my job listing him as my husband

- Engagement ring certificate of authenticity

- About 60 pictures of us with our family in parties, gatherings, etc. and of us as a couple in different vacations and day to day activities

NOTE: we keep sending each other letters and greeting cards just so we have even more evidence when my interview time comes up next year. He sends me money and I keep the wire receipts. We keep adding money to our joint account so that we have statements with an increasing amount that shows we do have a common goal - to be together! :)

I was specially cautious and scared because of our particular situation but I am confident that we are doing things the right way and being honest about this. Keep this in mind at all times. All we can do is play fair and hope for the best!

I hope this long winded post can help you and whoever reads it.

Best,

UnaMexicana
