But I have a question, how long is actually police certificate valid for? ^.^

And , to all those people who are feeling depressed and down. I am a may 2013 i-130 filer and still stuck at nvc stage, totally on the same page with you guys. But really I have started to realize that all the mumbling, tension and depression is just not worth wasting my time. Please you guys start living in the moment, accept it and see living at distance from your loved ones as an opportunity to learn something new or do something fun. You control your happiness atleast don't let nvc snatch that from you :)

Just stay as busy and occupied with people around you. Cherish them because once you move to U.S, memories will be all you have of those guys and you want them to be really really good right? Soooooo positive and happy we stay :)

One year but you should e-mail your Embassy and ask them that way you have proof and can save it. :D

EOC4ever, I sent a message to lagosiv@state.gov asking when Nigerian police certificate expires, and the reply from Lagos embassy was 1 year

Thank you for your inquiry.

The police certificates are valid for one year. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us again.

Sincerely,

Correspondence Unit (MAM)

US CONSULATE GENERAL

LAGOS, NIGERIA

Wooooow tnx Bootylicious..... Am so relief, Am so scared of getting checklist because they wrote on the Police certificate that its valid for 3months. I wonder why they wrote 3months on the certificate and then embassy says 1year.

Hummm is the Police Certificate valid for only 3 months in Nigeria? Same for Egypt but the US Embassy told me via e-mail that they consider it valid for one year. You might want to e-mail the Embassy in Nigeria they will answer you in two to three days and I bet it's valid for a year. Good luck. :D

Wooooooooooooooooo Hooooooooooooooo I was right! :D

Yea its written on the certificate that its valid for 3months. Since US embassy consider it valid for 1year I wonder why they still indicate 3months on the certificate. Since Bootylicious has already confirmed from Lagos embassy so fingers crossed till my package is review.

Because one has nothing to do with the other, the US Embassy does what they want and the Nigerian government does what it wants. Thus why things work so well with all governments. :D

Sad thing is you can't find it anywhere on the Embassy site not matter what country so far you look into. You would think the information would be there.

Ok off to bed see you guys in the morning :D have a great weekend. (F)(L)(F)

Questions keep popping up in my head today. So, well about police certificates again. My father has been posted in UK on intra-company transfer from last five years. I had my dependent visa and residential permit because of him for five years too which got expired this June. Now in last five years, I have visited him a LOT but never stayed there for straight 6 months or 1 year. To cut things short, do I still have to get my police certificate from UK?
