03.04.2009......Ordered Police Certificate for Visa Purposes from Local Garda Office (ordered over the phone)

03.05.2009......I-130 received at Embassy

03.06.2009......Received Police Cert

03.18.2009......I-130 Approved

09.10.2009......Medical Exam

09.23.2009......Embassy receives Notice of Readiness

10.13.2009......Received our interview date

10.29.2009......Successful interview!

11.5.2009........Visa received in post

11.7.2009........All the family flew to the US together :)

12.20.2009......Received Welcome to America letter

12.24.2009......10 year Greencard received in the mail

Still waiting for our cards...Had to file I-90 as they sent them to the wrong address.

March 9th, 2010, Received GC that has been lost in the mail for 10 months. Still waiting for my son's that is lost as well.

Filed Waiver for my son's 10 year GC and it was approved. He finally received his GC after its been missing for 2 years.

Thanking God this is over for 10 years.

Was out of work for 6 months :( Immigration process was at a stand still thanks to this

Got his EAD and SSN in February 2003

Job market sucked, he couldn't get a job in the US so no AOS

9/8/04 :( DH moved back to Canada K-3 expired

End of 2004, now have job and salary to satisfy affadavit of support (YAY!)

Visa bill mailed on 6/3

I-864 stuff was sent via overnight mail on 6/14!

11/15/05 Interview--APPROVED BABY!

4/30/06 Activated IR-1 Visa at the Pacific Hwy Crossing in Blaine, WA

5/12/06 Dave Received the Welcome to the US letter...

5/31 Green Card arrived in the mail! Also got 2 more welcome letters!

Dave's company has transferred him 7/6!

Started his position in Bay Area, CA on 8/14!

I totally wish James Blunt would shove Back to Bedlam up his A*S now!!! His bloody whiny voice and irritating accent is everywhere!!! james blunt = big wet wimp!!!

Out of all the British acts to make it in the US it had to be him...........why oh why!!!

In 2004 I got dragged to some gig at the barfly in London (or the camden monarch, for the old timers) and who should open? One James Blunt...who told us all about war and being a grenediercguard and how beautiful is sister was (please, I don't want to know). It was on the of the most painful live music experiences I have ever had in my life (though cat power vies for top spot, along with solo Kevin Rowland).

I hate all this whiny-### bed-wetting ballad ####### that is so popular these days anyways, especially coldplay.

I think James Murphy of DFA and LCD Soundsystem said it best -- when I was growing up a lonely teenager in my bedroom I looked at popular music for escape and saw david bowie as ziggy stardust, now we have chris martin.

Yes -- it was the most frightening thing I have ever seen in my life.

So I'm at the Reading Festival in 1999 -- it's about 5pm in hte afternoon, myself and most of the 100,000 others have been drinking all day in the august sun. Anyways, I have just gone to sit down after watching one of my favorite bands of that time (pavement). I even feel like I might faint -- the crowd and the heat are really getting to me. Anyways, when I start to come to, I see this vision of a middle aged man wearing a white dress on stage surrounded by scantily dressed women in bikini outfits dancing around. the music (which is from his then new album my beauty) is TERRIBLE, I mean so awful words couldn't do it justice. What is this fearful apparition before me -- why it's Kevin Rowland! from Dexy's! A band I used to love! Why is he wearing a dress! Why is he acting so strange! So then all the misunderstood teenagers waiting for Green Day or some other ###### band to come on start booing! loudly! people start throwing things at him! (these objects include a crutch and a bag of pasta according to my friend working on stage). He then says "I'm wearing a dress not because of what's socially acceptable, but because I think I look good at in it" He then leaves the stage.

the sad thing was, I think he was actually really not of sound mind -- i think his manager or whoever thought it might get a lot of press if he went on stage and made a ####### of himself, but it is truly the most horrific "performance" I have ever seen live

It's so funny to hear how EVERYONE is loving him here at the moment. When I was in Ireland last summer, Gavin kept saying "by the time you leave, this song will be # 1"-he was refering to "You're Beautiful". He was right :yes: I bought the cd in the Dublin airport, when I came back here I was raving about him and no one cared.

Suddenly they play his songs on Grey's Anatomy and everyone loves him. They are now playing that song ALL the time-on evry station. I do like it but they are playing it too much.

you are right about that-everyone is acting like he is the greatest "new" thing here
