Questions & Concerns:

- Our friend's name name showing up on the lease. Does that look bad for us?

- Do I need EVERY bank statement available? I can go back 36 months.

- Is the amount of pay stubs I have enough? I just used them to establish that I was contributing to our shared account

- No utilities in both names

- No car loan or anything in both names, I don’t have a car or state of CA license yet.

- Should I include our marriage certificate just for a refresher on when we got married?

- No pictures, no cards from family. No affidavits. Should I try to scrimp together some photos?

- My life is insured through the military. DH would receive that if I pass away, but I don’t have anything that shows that (to my knowledge.)

- USPS haven’t updated my address yet, would like to provide their confirmation letter

- USCIS got a copy of our shared credit card (shows same account numbers) with original ROC package, should I send that again?

- Our bank cards have different numbers on the front, so those won’t do any good

Does anyone have any ideas for anything else I could send? I'm following a strict "More is More" strategy with this one. I want to get this fat package sent out by the end of next week at the latest!!

Thank you again!

- Our friend's name name showing up on the lease. Does that look bad for us? I don't think so if you guys are like roomates or something. if it has your name and your husband's it's good.

- Do I need EVERY bank statement available? I can go back 36 months. I think a solid 12 would be good.

- Is the amount of pay stubs I have enough? I just used them to establish that I was contributing to our shared account Anything is good.

- No utilities in both names not that important anyways.

- No car loan or anything in both names, I don’t have a car or state of CA license yet. this would have been a good evidence though.

- Should I include our marriage certificate just for a refresher on when we got married? No They know already when you got married they just need proof of good Faith.

- No pictures, no cards from family. No affidavits. Should I try to scrimp together some photos? YES since the only evidence you have is bank statements and lease also you should really try to get affidavits.

- My life is insured through the military. DH would receive that if I pass away, but I don’t have anything that shows that (to my knowledge.) There definitely is something somewhere with this official information that you signed, ask around.

- USPS haven’t updated my address yet, would like to provide their confirmation letter YES.

- USCIS got a copy of our shared credit card (shows same account numbers) with original ROC package, should I send that again? YES.

Literally ANYTHING that has both your names on it. if you have little evidence, family pictures like you with his family or him with your family and Affidavits are worth gold. Good Luck!

I suppose I'll re-submit the copies of our shared credit cards.

The service that has my husband's insurance information is undergoing maintenance right now, so we'll have to wait to get anything from there.

And yeah, I'll be calling USPS tomorrow to sort out my change of address issue. I really want to send a copy of the change of address letter from them.

... looks like I'm printing out 12 months of bank statements.

Have you drafted wills, medical powers of attorney, HIPAA releases, etc.? If not, do so immediately and include them. These are highly overlooked as evidence, but slam-dunk proof. State-appropriate templates might be available on sites like nolo.com or legalzoom.com (I presume that they are), or an Internet search might reveal a template that you can retype. Be sure that the documents are valid for your state of residence.

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

I had thought about those types of documents, but I've never dealt with them in my life so I thought they'd be a huge pain to get. When they're done online, are they as "serious" as if you had one done with a lawyer??

I was wondering why I was seeing two of these threads in my content... thanks!

Questions & Concerns:

- Our friend's name name showing up on the lease. Does that look bad for us? --->I do not know, but you should send in the lease.

- Do I need EVERY bank statement available? I can go back 36 months. ---> At this stage, print every page of every single statements that you can find.

- Is the amount of pay stubs I have enough? I just used them to establish that I was contributing to our shared account. ---> I think so. Send them in.

- No utilities in both names. ---> No problem. We did not have this either, and it was fine.

- No car loan or anything in both names, I don’t have a car or state of CA license yet.

No car loan is ok, not everyone has it. Because of credit scores, It is not easy to have both names on car loans anyway.

But you should get a CA license that matches your spouse's address.

- Should I include our marriage certificate just for a refresher on when we got married?. ---> Yes!

- No pictures, no cards from family. No affidavits. Should I try to scrimp together some photos?

Many people think these carry little to no weight. As for affidavits, I wrote a simple letter about our life together and that our marriage is going strong.

- My life is insured through the military. DH would receive that if I pass away, but I don’t have anything that shows that (to my knowledge.)

I do not know. But you can call and ask the military.

- USPS haven’t updated my address yet, would like to provide their confirmation letter. ---> It is up to you if you want to wait. How long ago did you send the Change of Address request?

- USCIS got a copy of our shared credit card (shows same account numbers) with original ROC package, should I send that again?

I'd say send in any statement that you have. If it is a joint credit card account, both your names should be on the statement.

- Our bank cards have different numbers on the front, so those won’t do any good. ---> This is true for debit cards that are from the same bank account. Don't worry about it.

Thanks for your input so far guys!

- I'll still be sending the lease for sure, haha

- I'm planning on printing out 12 months worth of bank statements

- Also going to log onto our credit card account and see what I can use from there

- I think I'll write a quick note covering our move from Hawaii, getting our new place, and an explanation about our house mate

- Going to try and get the military website to work which may have more information to print out about our life insurance policies

- The change of address request was submitted at the beginning of July. Just got off the phone with USPS and I'll have to cancel it and submit another in person at a post office

Include your lease and why not have your housemate write an affidavit indicating that they are living with you and can confirm that you are a married couple? I did not submit consecutive months of bank statements, just one every 3 months and the most recent one available. I don't know the exact rules in Hawaii for life insurance, but the ones we have you are required to nominate a beneficiary, you just have to contact whoever your insurance carrier is and request a copy of the beneficiary information on file.

Good luck
