proof of genuine marriage

Hi VJ members,

like to know whether a prenuptial agreement is a proof of genuine marriage,

any ideas anyone, having my AOS interview in 2 weeks, like to know whether i should include this as evidence.

No. If anything it's the opposite.

Agree 100%, I would NOT show the IO this document. You need to start collecting documents such as, Joint checking accounts, Joint car insurance....health insurance and pictures to prove a bona fide marriage.

This is what I gave my IO and got an automatic approval on the spot.

No. A marriage certificate is proof of a marriage.

OK thanks, this is what i doubted, I already have joint account, joint car insurances and pictures, just wondering whether that would be a plus, obviously it's not, I will not include that.

I disagree with the rest of them. It depends on the nature of your prenup. My partner and I have a prenup and besides the separation of finance and assets, we also have terms stating after x amount of time , we will be entitled to xxx. We also mentioned should one spouse outlived the other, what the other spouse is entitled to . we even put our cats custody issues and visitation terms in the prenup in case of a divorce .(although our attorney thought we were crazy ) I believe it could be used as a proof if the details are reasonable . Many people have prenup anyway.
