I am planning to apply for a B2 visa to visit with my friends and relatives and attend my best friend's wedding in the US. I have all my documents and everything ready but I am worried about my sponsor documents. My sponsor is not an American, never has been to US, he is a cousin of mine. I saw that you can only sponsor a B2 visa if you're a someone from the US. Is this true? Or is my cousin eligible to sponsor me for my B2 visa if he has all the financial ability to show? Thank you for your time!

hi

there is no sponsor for a tourist visa, you apply on your own merits, as said you will have to show strong ties to your country and reasons you must return

job, properties, if you have them, income things like that, are you leaving your family behind?

I have my whole family here. I have a good job and properties as well. I am planning to visit my boyfriend for few weeks and attend his sister's wedding. Am I supposed to say that I'm planning to visit my boyfriend or just say visiting friends?

It can take a few weeks or a few months if AP is required.

No one can tell you her chances.

If she does not apply, no chance.

It might not seem a big deal to you but you made no mention at all about a boyfriend in the first post. You said you want to go to your best friends wedding, then it changed to your boyfriends sisters wedding. Your boyfriends sister might be your best friend but in your interview it might seem like you are trying to hide that you have a boyfriend in the US.

While it's generally advised here that you shouldn't volunteer more information than you're asked, it's also not a good idea to try using wordplay to try hiding information.

The COs generally aren't stupid and have probably seen every trick there is.

Having a boyfriend in the States won't automatically mean you'll be denied, but it will probably be a hurdle to cross with the presumption of immigrant intent.

You'll probably be asked what your future intentions are with this boyfriend as they'll probably not believe that anyone would want to be in a long distance relationship forever. You need to convince the CO that you have to return home at the end if your trip, and having family and properties in your home country won't mean as much if your plans are to move to the States in the future anyway.

Good luck, and as boiler is says, if you don't apply then you'll never know if you'll get approved or denied.
