Does anyone know what's next after fingerprints? Are we supposed to get interview letter next or some status update?

Hi onek,

After the biometrics you are placed in line for interview and then scheduled for the interview.

Did you sign up to receive email/text notifications on the USCIS website? If yes, you should be notified by text/email when you are placed in line for interview. And once they schedule your interview they will also send you a text/email notification and the letter, which you will receive in the mail, with the date, time and location of your interview. You may also receive a yellow letter asking you to bring certain documents to the interview, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you are close to being scheduled for an interview.

If you didn't sign up for updates, you can do it at the USCIS website. You can also check your status online at the USCIS website using your case number and see if anything has changed in your case, without having to sign up.

I am so upset. USCIS rejected my N-400 Application and they issued a notice of action stating that I applied more than 90 days before.

My date of permanent residency was 10/17/2009

I sent application on 07/17/2014

I thought according to the above dates I will be fine but they rejected my application

Anyway, I have resubmit my N-400 application on 07/25/2014. Someone please fix my application new date.

It must have arrived the day after you sent it, which would have been one day too early.

According to the early filing calculator, your eligibility date is 07/19/2014 because July and August both have 31 days. Either that or they messed up; applicants have reported that happening too, which is why it's better to wait a few days after your eligibility date before mailing the application.

It's a good thing they returned your application. There are a couple of stories on VisaJourney about applicants whose checks were cashed and who made it to the interview only to be denied for applying one or two days early.

Looks like it's only going to set you back a week... Good luck!

After the biometrics you are placed in line for interview and then scheduled for the interview.

Did you sign up to receive email/text notifications on the USCIS website? If yes, you should be notified by text/email when you are placed in line for interview. And once they schedule your interview they will also send you a text/email notification and the letter, which you will receive in the mail, with the date, time and location of your interview. You may also receive a yellow letter asking you to bring certain documents to the interview, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you are close to being scheduled for an interview.

I noticed that you were in line for interview a couple of days after the fingerprints, but that's not the case for the July filers. I also checked June filers and most received in line notifications a couple of days after the fingerprints. I wonder if the process has been changed and I don't think anyone from July list has received the in line notification.
