She said she remembered one name but haven't seen or heard from that person in over 3 years.

They have the same full maiden name? (The CENOMAR puts the full maiden name of the bride.)

Returning to NSO with your marriage documents, BC, NBI etc. as proof would be in order. I would certainly begin the work on this sooner then later so it doesn't delay your process. May take 30 - 45 days to sort through and then you can get your visa and adios to the Philippines and HELLO USA!

I just finished talking to a Filipino American Lawyer in the USA about the issue with the CENOMAR. This law firm also has offices in Manila and works with the US Embassy. They told me that they can fix this issue but can take up to a year. Worst case, I would need to reapply for the IR-1 and IR-2. They also said that there is a lot of identity theft in Manila and Philippines in general and that people use the names for many things including fake marriages.

My wife also talked to a large Philippine law firm in Manila. They also said that identity theft is a big part in Manila. They said they can fix the CENOMAR but also can take up to a year and cost 4500 to 5000 usd.

I'm hoping and trying to save the visa package. The only thing keeping my wife and step-daughter from getting their visa's is the CENOMAR. They pasted the interview and medical. What a shame there are crooked people who can ruin lives everywhere.

Thanks for your posts and I hope this can help others. Later I will post the law firm names for others to use.

NSO has access to those marriage certificates, after all they listed them on her CENOMAR. She was married to her husband in 2005, years before these other marriages. She need to question NSO as to why these marriages, that are not her, are listed on her CENOMAR.

I need to ask my wife if there are any marriage cert. with these fake marriages. As for the NSO most likely they will do nothing to correct this problem. You need to go though the court system. When I get some info I will post here.

I wish there is someone here in this forum that can guide us on the process or procedures to get this info removed.

It doesn't really matter on the son's birth certificate, relax. Even if he were to apply for a visa at a later date it won't matter, others have passed through with the same type of information on the child's birth certificate... no issues

If you want it removed it would require an attorney, only basic name issues can be changed without a special process.

You'll need a lawyer to gain access to those marriage certificates. I doubt NSO will give you a copy or a look at those MC given they are owned by "someone" else.

If the marriages were reflected on the CENOMAR, 100% its registered so an NSO MC exists.

They can hardly have it both ways?

Same name, yes. But what about the other details in the MC like birth date, birth place, parents' names? People having the same name is common but those other details separates one from the other. When you request for an MC those other details will be asked.
