My husband (from Russia) entered on a K-1 visa in March 2014. We got married in April 2014. I filed an I-485 Adjustment of Status packet and an I-765 EAD request together.

Question 1: I only received a NOA for the I-485. Is this normal since I filed them together? When I pull up the case number in USCIS, it also just states the I-485. I hope they are still processing the EAD?

Question 2: My husband got his fingerprints taken 2 weeks ago at the biometrics appointment and yet it still says "Acceptance" on the USCIS case status website. Is this normal for them to be this slow in updating?

Thank you for any information you can provide. I am starting to worry because we really need him to be working soon, and I hope that this EAD is being worked on and that it wasn't just overlooked/ lost.

Youre I 485 may be in acceptance for several months depending on youre local office times, even after biometrics they are really behind at some centres. Seems to be the further south you are the worse it is.

As for the I 765 I believe it should have come at the same time as the I 485. It will have its own case number. Maybe you could get an info pass at your local center and see if they can see why you havent received a NOA yet.

I have got two emails for my I-485 and I-765 and those have different receipt numbers. My EAD is now under initial review whereas my I-485 is still under acceptance. Did you include e-notification in your AoS package?

Each one has its own receipt notice and case n\umber. Most people file all 3, the I-485, I-765 and I-131 and they will receive 3 notices and case numbers. The biometrics letter will usually contain both the I-485 and I-765 case numbers on it because you do the biometrics for both forms at the same time. If you did not receive a notice or case number for the EAD, then you need to contact the USCIS by speaking to a tier 2 immigration officer on the phone, or making an Infopass appointment to speak to one in person.

You ought to get all 3 notices,( I assume you filed I 131 for AP as well, if not, why not), so yes you need to chase up the EAD. Did the bio appt letter have 2 case numbers on it? Should have for AoS and EAD.
