Hello everyone!

I submitted the I-130 for my husband in 4/14/14. I am a US Citizen and I live in Fl. My husband is In the Dominican Republic. I reveived the first NOA on 4/22/14. Case was sent to the Nebraska Servicing Center. Since then we havent heard anything. Is there something we should do aside from just waiting? Any docs that need to be completed or submitted? Im worried of missing something and making the process longer. Thank you!!!!

Hi, you just started the crazy journey! The only thing that you can do in the mean time is learn as much as can about the process as well as getting all of your documents together. Good luck because it is a very stressful process ?.

You will likely hear something towards the end of this year or the start of next.

Hello,

I submitted the I-130 for my husband on February 21st, 2014. I am a US Citizen and I live in NY. My husband is In the Dominican Republic :(. I received the NOA1 March 3rd, 2014. The Case was sent to the Nebraska Service Center and since then no updates no letter, nothing at all. :( be patient that's all you can do. I was told that Nebraska service center is most of the time behind in comparison with the rest of the service centers. Good Luck! And again be patient. If you don't hear from them by October 15th, 2014 call them.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

NOA 2 comes 5-6 months later, no worrying start gathering your documents for the last 3 years. If you can afford plan trips to see your loved one. Nebraska has speed up I only had to wait there less then a month for an approval so you will be just fine. Once you get approval 2 weeks to get to NVC and then 30 days after that for a case number. So patience is the key to all of this. We are here to help.

Im in the same boat, waiting for Nebraska USCIS to do background search and whatnots. I called them and they said it'll take 5 months. If I haven't heard anything in 5 months then call them back. During the mean time, A few suggested me look into the NVC paperwork and have it ready and send it the moment you get your forms.

May 7, 2014 - I-130 sent to Chicago, IL Lockbox

May 12, 2014 - Case recieved at Chicago, IL.

May 13, 2014 - Case accepted. Received LIN#. Case forwarded to USCIS, Nebraska. i-797 hard copy received shortly after.
