I am having a really frustrating time right now.

My husband and I have called multiple civil surgeons asking to for a vaccination assessment as he needs to get one more vaccination. He just needs ONE vaccination, but every single civil surgeon so far has stated that they won't do it without doing a medical exam (which is another $200 we really do want to spend as we can use that money on less pointless things)

So far every place has said that the medical exam he received in Canada is no longer valid. I call bullshit on that because the instructions on the form state that a K1 visa holder is not required to have another medical exam. Whenever i point this out, I'm still given the same answer. It's on the OFFICIAL INSTRUCTIONS.

I am at my wits end. I've read that we just need to get lucky and find a CS that is willing to do the vaccination assessment with doing a medical, but that's NOT how it should go. Why are they doing this? How can I convince a CS to do their damn job and not try to suck away my money needlessly??? Has anyone else had this experience and can give any advice?

Does anyone know any CS near Naples, Florida willing to do the vaccination assessment without forcing a medical exam down our throats? At this rate I'm willing to drive three hours out the way. (and please don't say we should just spend money on a medical exam because we live in a wealthy area. We just moved in with a friend and we aren't actually wealthy in any sense of the word)

You need to make an appointment at a Health Clinic to get the shot not a doctors office. Call around to see which clinic gives which shots. I'm in Canada now but got everything I needed before I left the U.S. You only pay for each individual shot required. Some clinics do different shots so ask before making the appointment. (Example: chicken pox was $21.00). Dont forget to get the card for the vaccination before you leave. Hope this helps.

Yes, they can get the shot cheaper at the health department, but that is not the issue they are having. They would still have to see a civil surgeon to get the vaccinations transcribed onto an I-693 for AOS.

OP, they can do that simply because they can. The USCIS does not regulate how much they can charge or force them to follow the instructions for those that do not need the full exam. You may need to call some farther away from your city. Tell them you need one vaccination and a vaccination transcription for adjustment from a K-1 visa, and that you already had your medical exam abroad, and according to the USCIS instructions, do not need the full exam. Thank you so much, KayDeeCee. With your list I found a civil surgeon who is willing to do just the vaccination assessment even though the place is a whopping 4 hours away.

However, before I drive all the way over there and possibly waste my time I have a question:

The place said that they will do what we need, but they will not fill out part 2 of the form (understandably since they will not do a medical exam). The lady I spoke to said that since they will not fill out that part that there is a possibility that we might get our application denied. Is this true?

Has anyone managed to get a CS who will just do the vaccination assessment and wasn't denied even though their part 2 wasn't filled out?

It honestly seems like we don't need the part 2 filled out since we are under the circumstances where we shouldn't need to get a new medical exam. I'm just worried because the lady said that they had someone denied, but it's possible they weren't in the states under a K1 visa.

If anyone has any experience with this, that would be great to hear about and thank you so much ;w;

You would not be denied. the worst that would happen is an RFE, but I have seen mention of other civil surgeons that do not fill out Part 2 because they did not do the medical exam. I assume they can leave it blank, X it out, or write in it that medical exam was done abroad. Your medical documents from your K-1 exam are in your file and USCIS will have those already. So, it is probably ok if they just fill out Part 1 and 3 on Page 1, and fill in the vaccinations on Page 5.

If your under K-1, the instructions is that you only submit the vaccination supplement and as long as your medical exam is within a year in filing your AOS and even if its incomplete but your under a blanket waiver,which we did..and then we found out about this I-693 after we submitted our AOS, we are so worried getting an RFE and we did search for a local authorized civil surgeon for it but had the same experience as you did..we were expecting an RFE for that I-693 but we never did.we decided to just go through with the interview without it even if it was mention in the interview appointment letter..interview went on without the USCIS agent even asking for it..so it does works for us without submitting the I-693..it might depend on the USCIS local office you are from..you may search your local office past experiences from previous petitions..goodluck!

The OP stated her husband is missing a vaccination. You can skip the civil surgeon and just send a copy of your DS-3025 IF you had all the required vaccinations at the time of your K-1 medical and they were marked off on a properly filled out DS-3025. If it is not filled out correctly, and/or you are missing any of the required vaccinations for AOS, then you must see a civil surgeon to get the vaccinations transcribed onto an I-693. Incomplete is what most will be marked, and the bkanket waiver is for all the ones that were not age appropriate, for the missing varicella if you had a history of chickenpox, or the missing flu shot if was not flu season at the time of your exam.
