Step 1 - i 130 approved

Step 2 - NVC Step complete

Step 3 - Medical Complete

Step 4- F2A Visa Interview Complete ( No RFE)

Step 5- ????? Unknown

My wife attended F2A Visa interview at US embassy at home country on last week of may 27th and the officer asked her to come on june 5th to collect the passport and visa packet. But when she went to collect her passport she was suggested to wait because visa retrogression is in effect from June 1st.

I have couple of thoughts and we do not have any control at all.

Could somebody please help me with the possible scenario?

1)Embassy will hold the passport until the priority date(July-2013) becomes current or they will issue the visa

2)My wife will have to go through NVC , Medical and interview steps again because police report/Medical expires after 6 month.

3)Take re entry permit and go back until she gets her visa.

Hi,

1. A visa can not be issued to her as her PD is no longer current. She will need to wait until her PD is current again for an available visa.

2. Most likely, she will need to do the medical again, and you will need to update all the documents.

3. Re-entry permit????? What does this have to do with her? She is not even an LPR yet.

Hi aaron2020,

Thank you for your thought even I am thinking in the same way.

3.) Is related to my personal frustration related to the overall recent days hope excitement and finally unknown result. Actually

I am thinking to go back and stay with family until visa which might occur within next 2 years.

I really do not understand all the process and we all are suffering lets hope all family members who are in the pipeline will hear good news again.

you should email the IV Unit and ask for Vice-Consul review/oversight about this - as your wife was right at the cusp and the country workers usually get the wrong response for the emails.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
