Hi there! I'm new to VJ, I want to thank everyone first and foremost for all of the amazing information I've found here! :)

My fiance and I have made it this far, and I have my medical exam and interview coming up in the next month here in Montreal! I'm incredibly excited, but have a few small concerns, specifically about the I-134.

My fiance is a musician who is working on his first album. He doesn't tour and doesn't make money from his shows, they're 100% volunteer work so far. He's never had a job, and has always lived at home and been supported by his family; he's never filed any taxes because he technically has no income (besides what his family provides him with). His grandmother has offered to be our co-sponsor and has more than enough assets and income to take care of both of us, as she is also a successful business owner. She has sent me all of the necessary documents and her I-134 so that's fine.

My questions are this - firstly, will we run into any problems because of my fiance literally having no job and no taxes? Does he still have to fill in an I-134 under these circumstances? If so, what paperwork can he provide as proof -- is a bank statement with his deposits from his family enough? Also another concern, possibly for people specifically in Montreal - do they generally accept the use of a co-sponsor here, as I've heard that some consulates don't?

Thanks in advance for helping me with my concerns, I'm sure I'm panicking over nothing but I want to make sure I have all of the bases covered!

Yes, he needs his own I-134, even if he has zero income. Yes, Montreal accepts co-sponsors.

There is a regional forum for Canada, if you want to research and/or ask questions specifically pertaining to your particular consulate > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/93-canada/

He does not need to provide a lot of evidence of income, since he doesn't have any income. He can provide a statement that he was not required to legally file taxes because his income was too low. The co-sponsor will need to provide their most recent tax transcript, letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs to prove their income meets the requirement for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e). They also need to provide proof of being a USC or LPR.

He has sent me the past few months of bank statements showing just the income given to him by his family, as none of it comes from working; it's more of an allowance from his parents. Should I attach those, or would that be suspicious, as it shows some form of income even if it's coming straight from his family?

Not needed. Allowance from family does not count as income. Not sure it would hurt anything, but it just won't be accepted as income for the affidavit of support.
