Hi,

I did a request on the CBP website to check out all of my entries and exits, but I find them to be very wrong at times.... Do they base your visa acceptance (making sure you didn't overstay) based on their entry and exit records? Here are some examples that came up on my file:

(The chronological order goes from bottom to top)

Departure 2013 November 22 SUM - SUMAS, WA

Arrival 2013 May 12 VCV - VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA

Departure 2013 May 14 VCV - VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA

Arrival 2013 April 13 SUM - SUMAS, WA

Departure 2013 May 14 VCV - VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA

Arrival 2013 March 18 SUM - SUMAS, WA

Departure 2013 May 14 VCV - VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA

Arrival 2013 March 08 SUM - SUMAS, WA

Departure 2013 May 14 VCV - VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA

Arrival 2013 February 08 SUM - SUMAS, WA

Departure 2013 May 14 VCV - VANCOUVER, B.C. CANADA

Arrival 2012 November 16 SEA - SEATTLE, WA

How is that possible. first of all it says that twice I stayed for 6 months which is DEFINITELY NOT correct... I live across the border and did not stay 6 months in the US. I have a B2 visa that is good for 6 months, but never stayed that long. Most of the time they are a one day trip for shopping, sometimes they may be counted as 2 days because I go back right after midnight, but NEVER have I stayed a night, sleeping in the US during that period of time... and second of all, how can I enter multiple times into the US but leave on May 14th for every single arrival... makes no sense...

here is another example where they have me go in the US but not leaving ever, but somehow I'm entering the US again...

Arrival 2012 February 02 BLA - BLAINE, WA

Arrival 2012 January 29 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2012 January 26 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2012 January 20 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2012 January 13 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2012 January 12 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2012 January 05 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2012 January 02 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 December 28 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 December 23 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 December 17 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 December 11 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 December 04 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 December 03 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 November 29 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 November 24 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 November 20 SUM - SUMAS, WA

Arrival 2011 November 15 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 November 11 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 November 08 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

Arrival 2011 November 06 LYN - LYNDEN, WA

and it goes on like that for about 2 years where it shows my arrivals but never my departure....

Am I gonna run into issues when it comes to getting a visa? Would they think I overstayed?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Not sure why you're worried about it. This is not normally an issue and I don't see why you checked if you're sure you haven't overstayed. Many Canadians don't have any issues even if they leave and go back again the next day. CBP doesn't play a part in in your immigration journey unless you've been banned or have seriously overstayed (deported etc...) Canadians have it pretty lax for entering and exiting the USA.

Most Canadians don't actually have a B2 visa, are you not originally from Canada?

Take a deep breathe - for a Canadian living near the border US trips can be frequent and sometimes hard to remember the specifics. We have had people here before who were as non specific on their application as saying 'multiple 1-3 day trips over the course of x months'...or something similar. Those dates they provided seem odd don't they.

If all you've ever done is visit I wouldn't worry about it.

I (Cdn born and bred) got a B2 stamp once as well - who knows why because my planned trip was like 8 days...but the US border person seemed annoyed that day

Same here. My husband always got a stamp coming into Canada but I have only received stamps twice going into the USA.
