I have gone on living my life, but added eating too much into the mix. And buying stuff for my fiance.

I would not recommend my path as all my pants are really tight or don't fit now!

Thanks Alex, I feel a lot better now! (As my pants don't fit either... :crying: )

I recommend on having patience, relax... This process can wear you out!

:help: I't like an addiction... I honestly check both VJ and my email atleast every half hour. The worst part is that I have just began my journey. I hope this is just the initial excitement that goes with filing a petition. I do hope that some of my eagerness, frantic-ness subsides a little. I can't imagine being held prisoner by a computer and two websites.

What does everyone do to pass the time and not constantly check status. Please, assist me with your ideas.

The only solution to this addiction is getting the approval :P Good luck on a speedy one! (F)

oops..you are right....clarification- the only cure to addictively checking the USCIS website is the approval. There doesn;t seem to be a cure for VJ addiction.

You might as well find some things to occupy your time in the next three months, or the wait will kill you.

I'm not expecting anything until possibly mid February. To sit around and hope for something before that is energy I'm not willing to expend.

I can't wait to have two months pass.

I have signed up for a belly dancing class  as well as a jewelry making class ;) . I have always been curious about glass blowing , hey, maybe I will try that B) . I wil need to load up with lots of activities.

If you like making jewelry .. and your interested in glass blowing you should investigate Lampworking ! It's a way to make glass beads by hand with a special torch.. I have been a lampwork artisit for years and years .. there are lots of kinds of glass but my Fav. is Murano (Moretti) You can also learn to blow glass with the same torch and a few other tools .. As far as the constant case checking ..... i think we are all guilty ! Hang in there ... ...... I think i might have to try belly dancing !!

Oohh, I wish I was, um, sufficiently artistically inclined for that kind of thing. I adore glass, and Murano glass in particular. I'm worrying about how I'm going to get the stuff I have (not much of it, but bought when I reallllly couldn't afford it) over to the States... lampworking sounds great, I'd love to learn how to do something like that! :)

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

You really can get started and learn the basics of lampworking for fairly cheap .. the glass is not expensive @ all .. and you can get a torch ( hot head ) for pretty cheap and usually a few lessons or else a good book .. or a dvd ( visuals help me ) of course you need a few other things as well But all in all it's not too bad ... If a person was to get more serious there are way fancier torches and tools .. and of course a kiln to anneal the beads .. but if your just learning it can be a pretty thrifty hobby !

OMG, 4 days into the process and you are checking every 1/2 hour? You are in for an ulcer.....

 Relax! You will look back at this when it is all over and scratch your head about why there was all the worry! Good luck with your journey!

Have your sweetie send you stuff from his/her country that you can sell for a profit on eBay - taking photos and writing listings takes up a lot of time, plus you will have the labels from the packages he/she sends you as proof of ongoing relationship, also the extra money will help through this process...might not work for all countries, but I have been selling things from Nepal through my eBay store - no I will not hawk it here ;)

I'm really tempted to find out more now... I always had glass work down as a very expensive hobby (and I'm trying to save money... then again, I never go out, so...!), but I might well look into it now. Thank you! Did you make the beads in your avatar pic?? If so, I'm very impressed! :)

(apologies for off-topic thread-hijackery, btw!)
