ooh wow really, I honestly thought it was the other way round. K-1, K-2 etc are processed faster while every other visa category much slower. Hopefully I hear words soon regarding the appointment date but for the meantime I'm still anxious about receiving my EAD. It has no tracking info on the website and I dont know how else I would be able to know the delivery progress but oh well still tryna remain patient. Thanks and I'll be sure to update if any new info arises... open question - does anyone know if they can issue an "RFE" at this Testing and Interview stage??

yes, still possible, but the more likely scenario is that if there is any information missing, they will ask for it at the interview.

i think (but not 100% sure) that K1s take longer because about 50% will receive an interview waiver - those that receive the waiver may get their greencard without an interview at all but it could take up to a year.

your EAD case status online should change once they ship it out, to include the tracking number. mine took about 4 business days IIRC.

Flying to Seattle on 6 May 2014!

You will see some of members here that adjusting from K-1, K-2, and K-3 waited more than a year to get approval whereas adjusting from different type of visas most of times are usually less than 6 months to get approval. I think the reason why you took a while because you sent separately I-130 from I-485. Most people I have seen here ensemble these papers together and sent it in got approval less than 6 months.

thanks everyone for your response, I appreciate. And yeah I sent in my AOS packets separately (in January) cos my joint sponsor was staying abroad for couple of months so there was nothing else we could do than to wait for her to return in order to sign the papers and provide her documentation. Thankfully she returned just in time of the I-130 approval so that was when we sent off the rest of the package. I also think the already approved I-130 MAY have a role in speeding up the process but either ways I'm happy at the results so far.. really can't wait to return to work, staying idle everyday can be a living nightmare. Glad all that will soon be over. Good luck once again to everyone

Walk in successful whoop whoop!!! Detroit service center. At first the lady said I don't know if we can do it because we had a power outage yesterday. I told them my wife is due anyday I would hope we can do it today. She goes and ask her supervisor and comes back next time you have to use this method to change your appointment I say ok. Then she gives me form to fill out and says if we can squeeze you in we will. We were finished in 15 minutes.

I received emails early Saturday morning saying that my NOA1s couldn't be delivered, even though the biometrics appointment letter got through fine and other letters from the K1 app last year were posted to the same address. I rang the number listed in the emails and spoke to a lady for 20 minutes. She went over my name, address, case numbers and then logged 3 separate service requests (for each pending application) and said there will be a response in 15-30 days. All I wanted was the hard copies. So bizarre.

Not sure if there is anyone in the same boat regarding no hard copies but at least people who search the forums can see this is the next step. Although as I understand it, the hard copies are pretty much useless.

Once you go to your biometrics appointment how long does it take before anything changes online for your EAD and AP applications?

We had our Biometric appt back on 07/02 and nothing has changed on the EAD nor AP yet....

Awaiting Oath Ceremony for Citizenship! Last step!

Well, we have to get back to an RFE so I guess our I-485 status won't change until we get back to them.

I'll wait for the EAD and AP, maybe they'll send an e-mail when the card is in production.

Biometrics done. I was in an out in 45 minutes. The actual picture, signature and fingerprint taken took 3 minutes. Super cool people working there. It was Long Island City, NY.

Took a nap when I got home, woke up and felt the need to check the USCIS for any updates. Lol!

Wow, you were lucky. I had unpleasant experience in Kendall, Miami. And it took about 15 minutes to get my fingerprints done since they were not match for a few times and the lady had to redo again before they were finally match. I liked though my picture after she took it, lol. Much better than at the pharmacy passport photo booth for my AoS package.

Oh no, dont let me start with the picture. She kept telling me to put my hair behind my ears, and that's the ONE way I HATE my hair. I tried to let it slowly fall, but she caught it. I look like a dork in my picture - but she said: Don't worry, noone will see. Ummm, hello, this is gonna be on my greencard. Alot of people will see! :(

Ok guys just wanted to give you an update on my case. We filed my husbands AOS in June they recived it June 09th that is what was dated on his NOA1. We received the three NOA 1 and the biometrics appointment. You can check out my timeline. I have been trying to view our case status from the day we received our NOA 1. Everytime I enter it it tells me this case number is invalid and does not exist and I should contact customer service. I contacted them several times I was told I have to wait 45 days after 45 days we called back they transferred us to a IO and we were on hold for 2 hours. We never spoke to anyone the call eventually dropped. This is so frustrating I have no clue what is happening with my case because nothing comes up. I spoke to my congressman over two weeks ago and I was told by his immigration representative that they had a training last week so things are backed up so I am just here waiting ready for this to be over.

Oh yeah, she asked me to tuck my hair behind my ears which was I did not like at first. But after I saw the picture I was so happy, lol. If they use this picture for my green card, I would not mind, because I hate the pictures I took at CVS pharmacy. :content: .

I am in a similar situation. Filed for AOS and EAD on May 28 2014 from a K1 Visa and the online system is not recognising the application number.

Some users on the site have posted that if the application number begins with MSC (the National Visa Centre) there can be issues tracking the application as they apparently do not update status online.

Like you I have called and been told there is no record on their system. I was later advised by someone on the forums that is because the Tier 1 call centre staff only have access to the same website as we do.

It's been suggested to me to call the number and wait without selecting any options for three minutes or so and it will go to a human. If the person who answers speaks in Spanish ask for an English speaking person. Give them your application number and when they cannot find it ask to speak to a Tier 2 representative who hopefully will have access to your application.

As you have received the NOA and biometrics appointment letter you should be Ok.
