yeah the waiting really sucks... Its only been 3 days since I *sent* my application but I'm already nervous about it getting there and worried about getting an RFE later. I'm going to be in bad shape by the end  Anyway, you can never trust averages because there could be some people with like 10 RFEs or who keep sending wrong information or whom the CSC just doesn't like who could be tipping the scales.. People who sent in a perfect application may only have to wait 50-60 days, but ya never really know. I'm also thinking that a lot of government offices are in chaos after the holidays.. for example I'm getting mail rather erratically (ex. things being sent before christmas and a week ago getting delivered at the same time) and I think it may be because they had a buildup of work and are still reorganizing. Who knows

QUOTE(ding @ Jan 14 2007, 03:05 PM)

I read that Nebraska send their area's I-129F's to CSC. If so, maybe that is adding more and more time.

TSC and NSC have been sending their petitions to CSC for a long time now. It adds about 3-5 days to the process. Considering that average processing time is less than 3 months, it's not all that long of a process on the USCIS end at all. If you wanted to petition for a brother, for example, it takes more than ten years. Perspective . . .

I agree with everything both the above posters have stated.

I understand your frustration. We all at some stage have played a waiting game, some much longer than others. It can be difficult, hard, and often frustrating. You can use this time to your advantage. As your relationship, is still a relatively new one according to your timeline, this wating time allows you to continue to get to know your Fiance so much better, all you have is time, plenty of time to talk, and learn absolutely everything you can from each other. I knew and learnt more about my current husband, through daily phone conversations, and internet conversations, and cards and letters, and visits, albeit, long distance over a period of nearly 2 1/2 years, than I knew about my former husband through years of marriage. My delays were a combination of USCIS and child custody issues. Ask any person here in that situation,.. about the time consuming delays because of kids, and inconsistent ex spouses. Your case is running extremely smoothly from what your timeline reads. And be thankful, that once your fiances application is approved and with yopu, that you will no longer have to endure seperation. There are plenty of others in here, including myself, who are military spouses, and I for one, even though, we have been marrried 3 years in few weeks, am experiencing more seperation as he is currently on his second 12mth tour of Iraq.

Maybe this snippet from the USCIS today newsletter, along with what I said above will make you see things in perspective.

Backlog Elimination. USCIS has eliminated case backlogs of applications for immigration services and benefits through a combination of increased employee productivity and reengineered processes and automated services. The backlog was reduced from 3.8 million cases in Januray 2004 to less than 10,000 at the end of September 2006.
.

I think your lucky to not be a part of the 3.8 million,....lol

I am wishing you a quick resolve, and much happiness.

What people are saying is right...if you check the dates all the time you go bonkers!

Ours took forever to go through (checkout my timeline), we filed through NSC and it was transferred to CSC, plus the IMBRA RFE. Hang in there and keep busy. If you find you are losing it get on here and talk to people. Read up about the interview and the things you need to do for AOS, etc. It all helps you handle the wait! :)

Wishing you a speedy process!

Best thing is to pick the farthest out date and say ok that is when my approval will come. At the time I applied it was 70-90 days. I said, ok 3 months it is, and got mine just short of 2. Point being, if you choose the farthest date out you'll probably be pleasantly surprised. There is nothing any of us can do to rush the process. Use the time to collect evidence and prepare for the interview. It helps pass the time.

Yep a great policy!!!

But just when your think you have it all licked something else comes up..For us that are going through the Romanian Consulate.. We just got thrown a Kicker as of Jan 1st.. All Moldovian Citizens have to have a Visa to go to their interview in Romanian.. the problem is... they are so Swamped in Moldova that the wait for the Visa is weeks.. or if you pad someones palm with 300 Euro's you can get it quick.. they don't follow the law there..which states that Moldovian Citizens don't Need a Invitation..but they insist on it at the Romanian Embassy in Moldova..just so you can bribe them..So feel lucky that you won't have to deal with this so close to interview time..

I know it's frustrating. BUT....checking everyday will only add to it. The date changes so much, I finally *had* to quit looking or I was going to lose my frickin mind! I was up to checking two or three times a day...and I realized I was becoming a slave to it. Hang in there...it WILL be over soon. :)

I used to check on my portfolio at USCIS website every after one hour hoping that the date they last updated my case will change. It was frustrating to see the same old date and I realized that the more I checked it, the more I will get frustrate. I'm hoping for miracles too and I hope it will come now.

All of us here are going through a lot and waiting for our time to get approved isn't easy. Let's just keep on hanging on and pray for our speedy approvals.

David and Mae
